Bombard Your Subconscious

If you were a computer programmer, and the program you created wasn’t doing what you wanted it to do, what would you do? You’d rewrite it, wouldn’t you? Your own “programs” should be no different. You’ve already identified the areas you need to change and created a plan to change them. Now all you need to do is rewrite that program — by bombarding your subconscious.

You already know how to implant new beliefs, and you should be integrating at least one new belief right now. What method of “reprogramming” are you using? Do you write your new beliefs down? Do you look at a collage? Do you listen to a tape? Have you added visualization to your routine, seeing yourself living the life of your dreams? No matter which methods you use, you are bombarding your subconscious with that new belief, and it will have no choice but to give in.

What’s my personal visualization process?

I used to have a little recorder, and I would tape myself saying my new belief and play it over and over. Then I would write out my new belief and read it over and over. Now, I visualize that I’m already there. I’m going to my computer hardware (my subconscious) and I’m taking out the old disk (belief) and putting in the new disk (belief), and it’s replacing the old one. I just keep seeing this over and over again. I visualize that all the programs in my head are disks. And I get to the point where that image is in my head all the time–it has become a habit. Which is perfect, because your subconscious rests as much as your heart or your blood–never! The method I use changes, because I’m constantly changing. If I feel a method isn’t working for me any more, I change it. There are plenty of methods to choose from!

If you really want to jump start your visualization and goal achieving process, then I highly encourage you to check out my program called Having It All.  And guess what? To celebrate the holiday season I’m offering $50 off on the program. Just use the coupon code “2008GIFT” when you check out.

To Having It All!

John

I recorded my vision statements and beliefs into a .mp3 file and play them using my iPod, connected to my car’s sound system. I play them twice a day: when I am going to work and when I am driving back. :)

In between I listen to podcasts on ecology, business, motivation etc.

    My iPod only plays information.

Hi John, Great post…again! :) I’m glad you brought up the fact that you can switch things up!

Garry, is it that you have a hard time visualizing? You might be a verbal thinker (look at my website to find out – on the Thinking Style page). If you are a verbal thinker, rather than a picture thinker, then listening to a recording of your voice or writing your affirmations will probably be an easier way for you to start. Just a suggestion. Good luck…it is very fun to experience it working. Thanks, John, for your great information!

    Hi John,

Like you, I use a multitude of methods to bombard my sub-conscious mind. I write vision statements, I write positive affirmations and program them into special subliminal MP3s which I listen to on a regular basis. I often play these MP3s as I sleep.

Something which I have been meaning to do but haven’t done so as yet is to record one of my vision statements and create a subliminal version of it that I can burn it onto a CD which I can also play on a regular basis. I’m expressing my intention here that I will complete this by the end of this weekend so anyone reading this can hold me accountable.

In response to Garry’s comment I’d like to add that like many things, at first this is not easy. It requires discipline and persistence if you want to achieve your desired results. But these methods do work and the results are so worth it.

And as Leland Val Van de Wall said:

“You only HAVE TO do something until you WANT TO…then you don’t HAVE TO anymore.”

    Thanks, John.

I love this tip and the logic behind it as well. That really helps to harness the formerly seemingly inevitable wanderings of the mind into a simple scientific process worth adopting. I am thankful for you on this Thanksgiving Eve!

A few other useful ideas to consider:

    1) Get a digital image that represents your goal, save it to your computer hard drive, and then use to as a desktop theme. Every time you are on the computer, you will be reminded of the image of your goal.

    2) Write your 5 most important goals on a legal pad first thing in the morning. I keep the legal pad by my bedside. You can even write the goals in the dark. Neatness does not count. Embedding them in your subconsious does.

    Happy Holidays.

Who has the finest program out there on visualization?

I’ve used Michael Losier’s Law of Attraction system and have what I want written out.

I listen to what I written in the morning and then re-write the key allowing statement at night before I go to bed.

And when I go inside I haven’t quite found a groove where I really feel like it’s a compelling vision.

It seems fuzzy and my mind wants to cruise in 80 other directions.

Is there a clear set of guidelines someone has found absolutely works even though they had this problem at one time.

If so, I’d love to hear about.

Wishing you speedy and spectacular success,

    Hi John,
I really like the direction my life has taken since finding out about The Secret!
I usually just think alot about what I would like to see happen.
But after reading here about recording in your own voice, I think that would be a smart thing to do.

In “The Answer” on page 126, John mentions “sublimal software” that can flash images on your computer screen. Does anyone know of such software (name and where we can get it) and/or have a recommendation based on their own experience?

    Thanks Everyone!

    Hi Mitch!

I know John has just written a book called The Vision Board Kit… I also use his vision board from this website… the link is http://www.johnassaraf.com/visionboard.php

  • Mitch

Hi Joanna, I am familiar with John’s vision boards…thanks for the info, though. What I am referring to is something different…that is unless in his vision board kit John recommends some software applications do that do the “subliminal” flashing of your affirmations on your computer screen. If not, do you know of any programs that do?

    Thanks, Mitch
