It goes from me looking after me first, and my partner looking after herself first, then as a couple, we look after our couple together first, then the family ....... then community, parish, county, country and so on. As a soldier I would have to look out for myself so basically I'm alive to looking out for my mates, and so on. It's not selfishness, it's sense.As you found out, spread yourself too thin, you begin to tear!
