Entrepreneur or Victim?

“Shallow men believe in luck, believe in circumstances….Strong men believe in cause and effect.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

EntrepreneurEvery thought you form broadcasts a distinct and particular frequency, and that frequency elicits a response from the quantum universe as surely as a swinging hammer has an impact on the surface it strikes. Things don’t arbitrarily happen to you. Events in your business are the reflection of your thoughts, the echo of your own actions and the thinking behind them. In the East, this truth is reflected in the idea of Karma, and in the West, the Golden Rule. The core of this principle is this—You are at cause in your life and your business.

For many people, this is a challenging principle because it puts you squarely in the driver’s seat. Embracing this principle means you no longer have the luxury of blaming other people or external circumstances for the things that happen in your life.

Here is the flip side of that equation: Embracing this principle also means you have far more capacity to create the events and circumstances in your life than you have ever imagined possible.

When we don’t recognize this principle operating in our lives, it’s easy to start seeing ourselves as being the effect of those events. Rather than seeing that we are making things happen, we start to believe that things are simply happening to us. This easily leads to what is often called victim mentality.

If you are someone who is growing a massively successful business, there is no place for victim mentality in your life. The two states of mind—victim thinking and entrepreneurship—are 100 percent incompatible.

The word entrepreneur derives from the French word that refers to the source of the event, the one who initiates. Building and growing a successful business requires a commitment to being at cause, not at effect.

There are many things you need to know to successfully play the game of business. A great many of them you can learn as you go, and a great many skills and fields of expertise you can bring into your business by hiring or partnering with people who possess them.

But there is one skill you must have yourself, and it is a single most important skill of any successful businessperson, the one without which success is impossible: You must be practiced at creating the thoughts that will serve your business.

Creating a clear business vision is the critical first step to your success, but it’s just that: the first step. No matter how crystal clear it is, simply having a goal doesn’t make it happen. If you want to create financial freedom for yourself, five key elements have to be in place.

The Five Musts are:

  1. You must find something that stirs your soul.
  2. You must become excellent at it.
  3. You must recondition your mind to believe you can have it and achieve it.
  4. You must understand how to make money at it.
  5. You must take daily action.

    Attention: John Assaraf
After doing some extensive studies during the past year with people such as Harv Eker, I am about to open my own internest business. It is my belief that if I could start off as an affiliate for people of a certain stature, such as you and Bob Proctor, I cannot go wrong. Could you please tell me whether you entertain applications for affiliates. I have a gut feeling that I am going to be successful because of the odds, not despite them. I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Many thanks.

  7. Tim Seitz says:

Hey John, Tim Seitz here, I really think more people need to hear this message, because you are so on the money!

My main business has been Merchant Services, and everyone in the industry is screaming that the end is near, the sky is falling.

Instead of complaining, I went out and got more skills, put more tools in my belt and got certified as a hypnotherapist. Even before I completed the certification, one of my best merchant services clients, The Green Spa and Wellness Center, asked me to be their resident hypnotherapist, prices starting at $250/hour.

By the time I had gotten home word of my success as a BNI Director (I joined BNI to increase my referrals, then became a Director to meet more people) had got me a call from a fellow director, she asked me to join her company as the VP of Communications (salary is private, per NDA).

Literally over 25 people have approached ME to do their merchant services while all of this was going on, and yesterday when I talked to a competitor in the business who I know he said, “I gotta find another line of work, there are no good accounts out there”.

It’s true, I thought, if you keep thinking that way.

In BNI we have a pin that says “I refuse to participate in a recession”, I don’t wear it, because I don’t even want to put the word recession in people’s minds!

What I do instead, is when I see a person I will smile, instinctually, they will smile, and I will say, “You have such a nice smile! What are you thinking about right now?”

Our conversations go much better then the traditioinal, “How are you?”

    Have a blessed day,

Give Life to Your Dream Business

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” —James Allen

LightTo create your successful business, you need to start with the part nobody else sees, the hidden part of your iceberg—your vision. The seed of your business is the vision. People tend to be focused on the how, thinking that is where the answer lies, but it’s not. Yes, eventually you need to learn all sorts of “hows” crucial to the success of your business. But the real key to building your dream business lies in the clarity and strength of the idea—the seed.

That is why “more capital” is rarely the answer to business start-up challenges. People often believe that lack of funding is one of a new business’s major problems. It’s not. In the same way that air, water and sunlight are not hard to find, financing is not all that hard to find—if you have a compelling and clearly viable idea and strategic plan for growth.

The world around you is absolutely flooded with money, ready to flow toward you and nourish your sprouting business. Just when we think resources are dwindling, we find new resources that can achieve the same things.

Develop your vision.

The way the right note, sung clearly and loudly enough, can cause a tuning fork to vibrate and even shatter glass, is the same way the right thought, held clearly and strongly enough, can cause events in the physical world to happen. A single thought, held clearly and firmly can defeat an empire, as Gandhi demonstrated. And the right thoughts—held clearly and resolutely can build your dream business.

Create the seed of your business with great precision and clarity. This is the groundwork for every successful business that has ever been and ever will be. A vaguely formed, ambiguous seed will never sprout or take route. For a seed to flourish, it must be viable.

o   Write down the vision of your idea with specifics.

o   Make sure your vision is clear and strong.

o Figuring out the “how” comes after the vision and the decision. The How will always come after the What, when your Why is big enough.

Be patient.

Nature takes time to work, and so will the seed of your business. It’s called the Law of Gestation. A carrot seed takes about 70 days from the time you plant it until the time you have a fully grown carrot, ready for the eating. A lamb has a gestation period of 145 days. Human beings? About 280 days.

How long will it take the world to wrap you in the right set of circumstances for your business? I don’t know. But it will take some time. And I know this: If you keep digging up those seeds after you’ve planted them, you’ll stop the process cold. Gardens don’t work that way and neither does the picture of your dream business. You have to allow an idea the time to germinate and grow, to take root and find its resources in its own time. Let go of impatience.

Start putting your trust in your own resourcefulness and in the universe around you. The universe is ready to give you everything you want, once you are clear on what it is and patient enough to let it do its work.

Nothing is limited—not resources or anything else. You can only limit yourself in your mind.

The Answer for you: Your need the clarity and focus of a magnifying glass to create your dream business.

All the very best to you John, with regards.

thank you John. Very timely for me. Looking to create a new career path and I know my biggest challenge is ME. I keep getting in the way. I want to know up front the HOW first and control the process. Anyway, as usual the universe delivers right on time every time! THANKS

  22. Tommy Voris says:

    How true,

Great post John. I have seen it over and over again its the “busy” entrepreneur. They continuously run from project to project from meeting to meeting in high speed. They have no time, and unfortunately no direction or focus. At the end of the day, they cant figure out why they have such a lack of results. After all they were so busy.

Without taking the time to “Develop Your Vision” (as mentioned above) its hard to get any traction. Its when you have clarity, focus, and an actual game plan that the wheels stop spinning and you begin to really get momentum. Sometimes its by moving slower that we move faster…

Thanks again, I appreciate your work John.

  23. Candi says:

Great article!! Thanks for your commitment to personal development and for all you share with us!

  24. This email couldn’t have come at a better time. Like you read my mind! But you’re absolutely right there, John. Everything has to have a “gestation period” and my life has begun it’s process of change for the better but as humans…..we’d like things faster!
You’re awesome. I’m so thankful to have come across you a few years ago in, “The Secret”! That was the beginning of my new life.

  25. Suzettefern says:

This is so true–gestation is finally working for me and patience is always a work in progress! ;)

  26. Ron says:

Hey John, as always, very good advice, and I never tire of hearing it no matter how many times or how many ways. I must point out though, even if John Allen wrote the treatise “As A Man Thinketh” he is not the originator of the aphorism. Unless I’m mistaken, it was Solomon who was inspired by God in Proverbs chapter 23 verse 7, and ironically, but very much in keeping with Allen’s overall thesis, the context is along the lines of being aware of how deceitful the hearts of those who would entice you with “sweets” can be. Our hearts (figuratively) are the innermost depth of our beings, that which makes us as individuals who we are (whether good or not so good).
In Mark 11:23-24, Jesus presents the same importance of our believing emanating from the depth of our heart as the key to getting what we want. I’ve always considered this the biblical documentation of the law of attraction.

  27. Kym says:

Right on John. Most people seem to skip these steps and think all they have to do is open the doors and sell their product cheaper than the competition.

  28. g,day John and friends , time is related to effort it speeds up the requested outcome thanks

Thank you for this John. It is very timely.

The Laws of Attraction at Work

“Nothing can prevent your picture from coming into concrete form except the power which gave it birth—yourself.” —Genevieve Behrend

Laws of AttractionIn the quantum universe, there are no accidents. There are no coincidences. Every particle and every action is accounted for. We live in a universe of absolute precision.

The world of thoughts and ideas, of human ingenuity, creativity and enterprise, is not separate from the world of chemistry and gravity and fields and forests. There are no separate rules—they all come from the same rulebook. The laws that govern the movement of subatomic particles and solar systems, also govern our thoughts and feelings, families and careers.

This fundamental truth is all too easy to forget as we go about out daily routines, because we seem to live in two worlds—the seen and the unseen—the world we can touch, taste and see, and the intangible world that lies hidden away behind the curtain of our senses.

The events and circumstances of your business take place in the seen world. It is the immense, hidden portion of the iceberg that most of us are unaware of 99 percent of the time, while the tangible, material world we think of as “real” is only the miniscule tip that juts above the surface of our conscious awareness.

What sunk the Titanic was the hidden part of the iceberg that nobody saw coming, the part beneath the surface. And that is the part that sinks every business that ends up closing its doors.

The creative process through which the unseen world gives birth to the circumstances and events of our lives is the Law of Attraction. There are actually a number of distinct principles at work within the Law of Attraction. Here are six ways to put the laws to work for you:

  1. Everything starts as an idea. Everything in nature, every phenomenon starts in the universe, starts as an idea. Everything you manifest in your life follows the precise same pathway, from idea to physical form. We create from the nonphysical level, turning that which we can’t see, into that which we can.
  2. Realize you are at cause in your life. Science has shown us that the principle of cause and effect applies to the mechanics of everything, including our thoughts. Things don’t randomly happen to you. Realize you are making things happen or not happen. Commit to being at cause and don’t blame external factors.
  3. Understand how resonance is at work. Resonance, from the Latin meaning “to sound again” is simply the transfer of vibration from one medium to another. Thoughts held clearly and strongly enough can cause events in the physical world to happen.
  4. Your dream is within the seed. The seed of your business is your vision. This is the groundwork for every successful business. Your vision needs to be clear and strong.
  5. Be purposeful, patient and active. These three concepts enable the Laws of Attraction, Gestation and Action to work together. You will save yourself years of trial and error, and manifest what you want in your life and business much faster than you’ve ever created anything before.
  6. Get clarity. The more clarity you create around your business in every aspect, from its largest objectives to the particulars in everyday actions, the more you harness the mind-boggling power of the quantum field to do your bidding and bring that idea into reality.

More detailed explanations on how these principles work can be found in my book, The Answer.

The Answer for you: The universe is ready and willing to give you what you want, once you are clear on what it is.

It’s amazing how when we get aware of what surround our life as a whole, from the unseen to the seen world, how everything start to change and fall in place and to know that we are the leaders not just what God wants for us is the first big change we have to come to. Because if we not going to admit that than we are going to be stuck in place.

I’ve recently begun to notice the correlation between the Law of Attraction and the Power of intention. People with whom I work (I’m a musician) and have a strained relationship (personality clashes etc) have either become easier to work with, quit, or have been replaced. It doesn’t take much effort either, I just decide that a situation must be dealt with and the changes occur. Even better, my co-workers all seem happier because of these changes!

  17. Very clear, concise and understandable. Thank you.

  21. Herve says:

Secret, secret, secret…that is the word most used to help explain something that we are eternally connected to. There really is not any secret and to think that there is one distances an individual from what this word is used to identify. To identify and describe what it is that we are bathed in has the tendency to alienate us from it. We are not separate from it…we are it. Everything in it is it…without separateness. We merely have to live into it as we do even if we think of it as separate from us. Separateness is an illusion that we have been living in when we came to believe that when we thought of our selves having dominion over all things, we must be separate from it. We affect it as we go beyond thinking about it in being it. Letting go of the conditioning that we are separate from all that is to a knowing that we are eternally connected to all that surrounds is what is necessary to live the dream that most of us have dismissed as separate from us. Be-li(e)ve in what you dream as your ultimate experience is as that dream is connected to all that is. Namaste

The Real Secret to The Law of Attraction

“The universe likes speed. Don’t delay. Don’t second guess. Don’t doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act. That’s your job. And that’s all you have to do.” — Dr. Joe Vitale

ProcrastinatorAs a result of the film The Secret, millions of people have become aware of the principle called the Law of Attraction, which explains the creative process through which the unseen world gives birth to the circumstances and events of our lives. Because of The Secret, thousands of people from around the world have emailed, written and called my office to share stories about how knowing and applying the Law of Attraction has changed their lives. These stories are sometimes astonishing, often quite moving, and the range and variety of circumstances involved is staggering.

You can begin to use the power of the unseen world to create your ideal life and business. But here is the part so many people seem to have missed: The Law of Attraction cannot work effectively unless you also follow the Law of Action. Unless you get off your butt and do something, it’s not realistic to expect that much will happen.

Knowing the law of attraction, I wanted to really put it to use and see what would happen so in 1995, I created a vision board. I put pictures of things I wanted to achieve and attract—like a car or a watch—up on this board. Every day I would sit in my office and I would look up at this board and I would start to visualize. I would really get into the state of already acquiring it.

After moving three times and ending up in California, I opened a box that included my vision boards. I cut open the box that had been packed away for five years, and on one vision board was a picture of a home I clipped from an old copy of Dream Homes magazine. When I cut it out of the magazine, I hadn’t known where it was located or how much it cost. But there was no mistaking it. It was a picture of the house I was sitting in at that very moment. Not a house like it. It was a unique house on six acres, with 188 windows, 320 orange trees, 2 lemon trees, and a slew of other special features. I actually bought my dream home, renovated it and didn’t even know it. I was blown away.

I finally understood the power of visualization. While it all starts with an idea and a crystal clear picture of what you want, you can’t just sit around visualizing and waiting for things to happen. If all you do is visualize, the men in the overalls with the big trucks will come take your furniture.

You have work to do.

Visualize and create a vision board. Write down your goals and then find images that match those goals. Use magazines and cut out the words and images that resonate with you. My book, The Complete Vision Board Kit comes with a DVD, sample vision board and tools to help you create a vision board that will positively change your life!

Feel the emotion. Act as if. Act as if you already possess the things pictured on your vision board—the house, the car, or your business. Say, “this” is already mine. State your goals in the present tense like you have already achieved them.

Repetition. Look at the images on your vision board over and over. Repetitiveness of vision combined with your associated emotions will develop your power to visualize and take action to achieve your goals.

The Quakers have an expression, “When you pray, move your feet.” Another expression goes like this: “If you’re going to be praying for potatoes, you better have a hoe ready.”

In a word—act.

The Answer for you: Massive action equals massive results.

    Hello John,
I first read about you in the book “The Secret”. Though I had heard about the LOA earlier, I was unable to grasp its power. In fact, I made my first million without properly understanding the Law of Attraction. (I had simply followed THINK AND GROW RICH without a deep understanding of the 17 principles) Then I started applying it in my life – and since then, I have started realizing all my dreams.
I have downloaded your interviews and teleseminars – wherever downoad was available – and I replay them often. Recently I saw your house in one of the videos
And yes, procrastinator was my other name, but not anymore.
Thanks for your newsletters and videos.

you say you like to have comments, well here is mine:
1- your article is supposed to be about action, and yet the action you propose (the vision board) is in itself another form of visualization.
2- I theorize that the Law of Attraction is self-sufficient, in the sense that if you visualize and believe in your outcome, then the action will come of itself because you will be inspired to act. Acting for the sake of acting, on the contrary, could lead to premature actions that are ill-inspired, and get in the way of the real inspiration that is trying to make its way in. By the way, where is it stated in the Law of Attraction that you’re supposed to work at doing the attracting yourself? I have been reading this all over the place recently, but I don’t think it is theoretically sound!

does this work like the law of Intent? cause right now I’m disabled and can’t work as I would like to andI’m happily married for 30 yrs. what I need is to stay health enough to spend time with Sarah, my 1yr old Grandaughter. Because what I have is terminal. So I’m relying on the power of intent and reiki…..Your thought’s?

  8. My sister used to have a weight problem, now she’s skinny. I just realized today that every time she uses her computer she sits in front of a life-size cardboard cut-out of a really skinny body with her head on it, which friends of hers made for fun years ago.

  9. Rich says:

yes that’s correct…many people watch the secret and think all they have to do is merely put the intention out there of what they want and somehow it’s just going to show up? Wrong!

It takes consistent massive action on a daily basis combined with the intetion, desire, and all the things you name in your article.

laziness gets people nowhere….period….and that’s the problem with many many people these days…they are lazy…don’t want to do the work….they want something for nothing and it doesn’t work that way….never has and never will.

This is the part that people don’t get…oh you mean im actually going to have to do something?…..well then this “law of attraction stuff isn’t for me then” and so be it…go back to being broke with you dead end job…

    That’s what I say!

  15. Greetings John,
Thank you for all of the tools imbedded in your emails. I call them tools because they require someone to operate them in order to be of any value. Knowledge without application is of no immediate value. I have overcome a 30 year affliction as a direct result of believing i could, and taking the necessary steps to live in the Law of attraction. What I have learned is that in order to achieve all that I believe I must live in the same state of mind in every area of my life, which is easier in some areas, yet difficult in others. The bottom line in my lifes experience has been, that if I start with the end in mind, fall in love with the very thing I wish to achieve, believe that I have already have it, and take action, I always succeed.
I have to leave you with this. I am 49 years old, just had a newborn son on July 1, 2010.
After I quit smokine cigarettes in January of this year (this is not the 30 yr affliction i was referring to but I did smoke for 35 years) food became a replacement and i am currently 335 lbs. (gained 85 lbs. since Jan.) I want to be here for my sons 40th birthday, and i am pretty confident that the odds in that happening are very slim, unless i improve my health.
So now i find myself in a very uncomfortable position. I still think of food as sex, fun, & rock and roll. I’m writing this to you in order to make it true to me, that food is to sustain life and not an event.Today, 09-22-2010 I am committing to making a change, to see myself at 200 lbs. carrying my son, playing catch in the park, wrestling with him in the grass, screaming out thats my boy when he graduates high school, and being present at his wedding. I want to be there for my son. My dad past away when I was 16, my mom when i was 44, I miss both of them terribly. John, may you continue to be blessed as I know you are for the many blessings that I’m certain you have created through your continued delivery of solid, life changing tools, and the direction on how to apply them.

  28. Gmendeluk says:

I believe in actualizing prayer or affirmations, vision boards-whatever. However, and this I can’t reconcile, when something does manifest that I have tried through the above methods, it usually doesn’t happen if I try very hard. It’s almost as if I visualize it-yes certainly work towards it- but then let it go, surrender, That’s when it tends to happen NOT when I beat it to death. Explain that?

  31. Maria Dorfner says:

The Complete Vision Board Kit by John Assaraf is an excellent tool to help you visualize your goals as a daily reminder to take consistent actions towards them daily to attain them. Additionally, he asks the right questions to help you determine what you value the most and want in life. It’s not always material. Your vision board may contain photos of good heath, a happy family life or the ideal relationship. To address Carolyn’s concerns below, there is no brainwashing involved. John’s Vision Board is filled with your thoughts; not someone else. John’s book helps you focus. It’s a visual tool for you to organize your thoughts . In turn, that acts as a daily visual reminder to take action. In terms of timing, the best time is now. If something is holding you back — work towards eliminating it. John’s Vision Board can help with that as well. Eliminate fears. John addresses that. When your highest values are in tune with your daily behaviors you are living what John calls “a value driven life”. Your values. Your life. You know you are doing this because you feel it. Your predominant emotion will be a peaceful happiness that derives from within. You will have energy and vitality to spare. I have read, enjoyed and learned something from all of John’s books. I highly recommend them. -Maria Dorfner

  32. People really need to keep it simple when it comes to being successful. Like you said, be clear on what you want, visualize and feel it, and then take massive action to make it happen and the universe will have no choice but to answer to your greatest desires. Action is key! Thank you John for your leadership and the value you bring to the table.

    This is crucial I think.
    With gratitude,

You don’t need a huge amount of money to create a prototype product that you can use for “SHOW & TELL” to potential manufacturers PROVIDED THAT YOU HAVE THE COMPANY YOU ARE SHOWING IT TO SIGN A SIMPLY NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT (NDA), BEFORE THEY SEE THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN OR THE ACTUAL WORKING MODEL. I can speak to this since I have seven patents filed, & four already issued and some additional prototype products in the works. Ièll even give you a free copy of an NDA – which I got from someone else 12 years ago and which has worked for me. email aptd1@shaw.ca – no strings attached, just returning the favour.

I would like to trust more.

I have heard this story so many times in so many different ways from you. What about other things that manifested from the vision boards. And what about all those thousands of people that do not get what they want and try hard and prepare vision boards and emotionalize them and yet still the universe does not deliver. What do you say to them? How do you deal with failure? Or even understand the real reality of The Secret? Well, I propose some answers to these complicated questions on a short video I did on YouTube, just look for the MasterNomi Channel. It’s titled “The Secrets of the Secret”…Wishing you all the best on the Journey, Paul Harrison, aka Master Nomi

    Thank you John,
I do totally agree with you and I like to add that we do need to change our paradigms, how we see THE Law of Attraction, be specific as to what exactly you want to attract – than believe and eventually you will see it coming through. We all have the power to do so.

John I have a question for you, please. What if you have a Phenominal Idea-one that is worthy of a patent-but you don’t yet have the funds for bringing that idea to a product??? How would one best ‘act’ on that Idea to get the results desired? I know you have done this several times already with your businesses, so I figured I could ask you… And I Thank You for Your Blogs!!!

Dear John, thanks a lot for the visualization technics. The story of the picture of the house is just amazing. I saw you the other day at your house and I just could not believe it. I am exited to have my board.

  50. Zadkiel says:

Exactly!!! when people say “this doesn’t work” is because they are just expecting something to happen without doing anything. They are just waiting for something to just fall on their laps, like magic…it doesn’t work like that people, you need to take action to see results.

The Winning Lottery Ticket

In a recent lottery, the lottery being one of the quickest ways for how to become a millionaire, a West Virginia man won $317 million in the Powerball lottery. Now, did you know that the odds of winning this lottery are just over 120 million: 1?

Yes, those are pretty steep odds. However, winning the lottery is really a piece of cake in comparison to the odds of you being born again. When your parents decided to stop procrastinating, you become the product of 23 chromosomes from your mother and 23 chromosomes from your father.

Geneticists have determined that the odds of your parents having another child just like you are 10 to the 2 billionth powers: 1. Is doesn’t take any special coaching or mentoring to know right away these odds are astronomical.

It would take you 75 years working day and night just to write out this number by hand.

With all of that said, it sometimes makes me wonder why so many people are focused on how to become a millionaire. Instead, we should focus on being the best person we can be, we should stop procrastinating, and we should go out to leave a positive and lasting impression for someone or something.

The bottom line is that there will never be another you. You are one-of-a-kind.

Act like yourself. Be yourself. And live the life only you were meant to live.

To You Having It All,

John Assaraf

  5. We are so special and should celibrate our birthday every single day even they call us a cracked pot !!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.

‘I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.’

The old woman smiled, ‘Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?’
‘That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.’

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.’

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

  6. John,

This is true, how many really live their life on purpose. Including myself in this, always searching for clearer alignment in my purpose.

That’s why I really like this quote!

Do you want to earn $1,000,000 or more a year?

You may find this hard to believe… but I swear it’s true. Given the opportunity to learn what it takes to become a millionaire… and I’m talking about a step-by-step, take-you-by-the-hand, tell-you-exactly-what –to-do type of program… here is what 100 people would actually do.

Twenty percent (20 people) will have “excusitis” right off the bat and start naming every reason under the sun why they can’t participate. Why? They simply don’t believe it’s possible for them to accomplish this type of result… no matter what you say or do. So to justify their decision logically, (and give themselves permission to fail like they always do), they come up with excuses why they just can’t find the time, the energy, the money, the motivation, etc) to commit to taking the actions that would produce this result. Let’s face it… these people are in a self-imposed mental prison and will remain there for their entire lives.

Of the 80 people remaining, twenty percent of them (16 people) will make an initial attempt to learn and apply the information for about two weeks… and then decide “it’s just too big of a commitment for me right now.” Then they’re gone. These are the ones that change is just too much trouble. They simply “feel” better reverting back to their old ways of thinking and acting. These are the people who claim that the timing just wasn’t right)

Of the 64 people who remain…

32 people (or 50%) will give up half way through the program (or earlier). They usually last around the 3-6 month mark.

These people really do want to succeed… and actually have what it takes to succeed, but they tend to think that effort is all that’s required… NOT results.

What they fail to understand is that hard work is only part of the recipe to becoming financially free. You must also focus on the right things in the right order.

Now pay close attention to the next part….

Of the 32 people remaining – 90% will fail because they decided to do it their way… or a different way. (After all, their way is better, right. After all, they have succeeded in other areas of their lives but most have struggled financially. These folks have this idea that because they are smart, they can also be rich

When this program doesn’t work for them, they do one of the following…

1-     Blame someone else because IT doesn’t work

2-     Look for another book, CD, DVD, course, teacher or system (the “magic pill”)

3-     Realize it was them… not the system, and they start over

These people prefer to be right than rich. These people have hope… and they’re easy to help… especially after they’ve tried it their way a few times and failed.

So, with the 100 great loving, kind smart individuals that we started with, we’re now left with a whopping total of 3 people.

3% of the total population actually has what it takes to LISTEN, LEARN, APPLY and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.  3% will check their egos at the door and their “I know a better way attitude.”

With a few small adjustments, these people can really have it all and be rich in every area of their lives.

What about you?  Are you ready to HAVE IT ALL? Are you ready to put your ego aside? Are you ready to allow someone who has done this over and over, again and again and knows the formula for success to guide you and show you how to do it “for yourself?”

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT COMMITMENT VS INTEREST

Committed people MAKE things happen.

Interested people watch it happen to those who are committed.

If you are committed to being rich in every area of your life, here is a road map to earning One Million Dollars or more a year! Enjoy!!

Interesting statistics but I certainly believe it as I am one of those who give it a go for a while, then give up somewhere along the track. I am sick of this vicious cycle so I am doing everything in my power to change that. I am studying and have started a business and now my reputation is on the line as I have put myself out there, so the only way is up. Thank you John for this great insight – it is so very true. If we do not commit – and TRULY commit all that we have, all that we are, even if we have to put our egos on the line, we cannot truly succeed & be rewarded as we dream about. We certainly need to give permission to allow ourselves to push all the boundries & receive the rewards that come with all the hard work without feeling guilty – we deserve it. Love your work John – keep inspiring! :-)

Amazing statistics here, John. As a business coach like you, I have come across all those “excuse” categories throughout the years, too. Few people are smart enough to stay humble and open from an early age, for others it takes most of their lives and they may still not get there. Helping those who are stuck in their self imposed prisons is one of our big challenges and isn’t it terrific when we can walk them out of darkness and into the light – it can only get better from there. Thank you for an encouraging post reminding us what it takes to enjoy a successful life.

This–the statistics– sounds very interesting, John. You start with a hundred ambitious, good hearted people and end up with just 3 (3%)?
    Its unbelievable but makes sense!

The Olympics and Your Success in Life

I love the Olympics for many reasons. The sheer fun, joy and spirit we get to participate in while watching the athletes, their stories, their families, and the highs and lows makes for a great way to invest time in observing others pursue their goals and dreams. Partly for their country, mostly for themselves.

I can’t help but ask myself what these athletes did to prepare for the Olympics. What physical workouts, diets, practice and dreaming did they do? What doubts, fears anxieties, lack of confidence, certainties and feelings did they experience on their journey to Vancouver and, mostly, what did they do to overcome these feelings that each one of us has at one time or another in pursuit of our goals and dreams?

The Olympics I believe, gives us a chance to live vicariously through the participants be it athlete or coach, spectator or employee. In asking myself these questions and watching the games, I realized that I want to be on the field playing my heart out regardless of whether I win or lose. What about you? Do you want to be playing or watching? Cheering or checking? Feeling the exhilaration of the game on the track or from the stands?

Either way, life is a game that you can either play or watch, hope or do, enjoy or not. It’s your choice. Either way, the game is very short when you are playing full out or very long when all you do is find what’s wrong with it.

As I observed the games, I felt a sense of pride and joy and a sense of sadness. In every sporting event someone won the gold, silver or bronze. Many of the athletes didn’t win a medal. Were they losers? I prefer to think of all of them as winners, just in varying degrees based on their own set of circumstances.

If they showed up, did their best and felt and knew that they did…isn’t that a win? I say yes!

Life is not about winning medals. Life is about showing up ready to play full out and doing the best YOU can do. Competition, helps each of us see what is possible by pushing or pulling us to meet our potential and our goals.

Every one of the athletes came to the Olympic games with a goal. A goal that they committed to, trained for physically and mentally and then went after with all their will.

What are your goals? Have you committed to them and are you playing full out? Like the Olympic games, your flame will burn out. My hope and wish for you is that you have no more game left in you because you left it all on the field, doing and knowing you did your very best!

NOT not not the ones who make the rules and know how to apply the rules control the masses and make the money (unless you are in the know not) that`s why only 1% control the mass of money and people comsumption go figure KIM Power

  2. KIM Power says:

Gisele i believe your thoughts control the rules or at least your acceptance of your pre conceptions of your uncontrolled thoughts,,,,, ?!

  3. Gisele says:

    very confusing ?

play full out buy my program to make money and everyone can make all the money they want? come on not everybody is going to make all the money they want? 5% of people in the world control all the money, 40% of us citizen are on food stamps, nearly 25% unemployment in us, food shortages all over the world, 50% of people worldwide make $700 US per year, yes PER YEAR, 80% of olympic athletes come from higher classes (the’re having fun with the backing of mom and dad), let`s put things into perspective Mr. Assaraf !

Who is making the money the bankers, real estate moguls and rich who control the rules?

    Hey John -

My favorite learning tool from “The Answer” is the understanding that visualizing must be followed by gestation and most importantly – action. Thanks for once more reminding us of the difference between setting goals and achieving them.
