  2. Monique DiCarloNo Gravatar says:

Thanks for sharing this video! It seems that “people” start collecting fears from a very young age…what is behind that? The media/marketing uses fears to “move” us in a certain ways, yet so many seem unable to see through…it’s as if fear is considered the truth and having no fear is called being unrealistic?

  3. Sharon Lion-HeartNo Gravatar says:

Interesting teaching method. the power of the group for achieving resaults are amazing. John, next time you are in israel – call me. coffee on me…

  4. StaceyNo Gravatar says:

Thanks, I enjoyed watching the video and seeing a piece at one of your events! Even though I understand and know what I should do I get so frustrated when I’m not taking the right action I know I should. I have so many of your audios that I listen to and spend a lot of time practicing. I’m frustrated for not making the progress I really want. Ha, this may have nothing to do w/this video and at the same time have everything to do w/it. What happens when you just don’t know why?

Video: Stop Letting Distractions Slow You Down

Hi Friends,

Today there is so much technology that has been created to make our lives easier. But sometimes this improved communication creates distractions that make it harder to get things done and to focus. I find myself falling into this trap like everybody else! Click below to watch my video blog on how to Stop Letting Distractions Slow You Down.

I also wanted to share with you this entertaining video by brain expert John Medina about the brain’s lack of ability to multitask. It’s related to what I say in my blog about distractions and I know you will enjoy it, so watch it here.

P.S. If you want help from me on how to focus on your goals and to live the life you’ve always wanted, check out my Having It All program.

  2. Bill MooreNo Gravatar says:

Yet again another great point John (you are the best)… I do not even answer my cell phone until I am ready or when a pre-planned appointment call comes in. Smiles, love, gratitude and best wishes always,Bill

  3. garryNo Gravatar says:

thanks John , but how do you know if something is important or a distraction untill you have looked at it ?

  4. Linda HaylesNo Gravatar says:

You are SOOOOOO right! Twitter, Facebook, Email, Text Messages, etc… They really do get in the way. Thanks for reminding us to stay focused! It’s always great when you have your own example to share! Thanks again!

  5. Bill MooreNo Gravatar says:

Hi Garry, Just a humble thought but as my father always said ‘if it is important it will come back’… as John says focus on ‘High Impact, High Income’ – I have found that real opportunity doesn’t slip away in a few hours, that is a myth we all have been fed. Smiles, love, gratitude and best wishes,
    Bill

What is the activity that when you get it done today will move you closer to your goals? DO THAT and nothing else

  7. Machen MacDonaldNo Gravatar says:

    John,
Style and class. Well done. I love how you laser in on the critical key points of achieving goals. Limiting the distractions is often overlooked, and yet so easy to handle. Thanks for reminding us of this pivotal point of power.

  8. FayeNo Gravatar says:

Hi John: I just went to the video of the brain and it was very compelling. It also had a short video about cell phones & driving, and it has convinced me that even if I dislike the handsfree device in my ear, I need to use it! Cell phones & driving do not mix and this is the reason why. Thank you for the referral to this video.

  11. Becky FoxNo Gravatar says:

This is one of my biggest problems so thank you for reminding me. What has helped me is to block time out to get a project or task done and ONLY focus on that task which means no checking email, answering phone, etc..Ok now back to what I was supposed to be doing! ;-)

  12. Tony AlverioNo Gravatar says:

This is so true John that many of us get distracted eating lots of are daily time. Keep the great training coming!

    Thanks,

    Tony

  13. KimNo Gravatar says:

I thought you’d have an assistand to answer the calls and check your emails. It’s cool that you tidy your own office. I need to tidy my desk! I also find dedicating my yoga practise to what it is that I have been avoiding helps me. Thanks for posting all these great video blogs.

  14. Shyam LamaNo Gravatar says:

How true is this john? If we focus on only one thing, our brain starts functioning faster! and that way, time will be slower and we can finish many things.

    Enzo
The Universe is a highly intelligent, self aware and total consciousness. All there is is awareness of this

  22. Ryan MetteeNo Gravatar says:

Awesome… the first step is identifying your desired outcomes and emotionalizing these future experiences as if they were happening now. Learned it straight from you and other personal development thinkers. Right on John.

  23. Michael WeissNo Gravatar says:

    Enzo and John:

Tough times call for toughness: The closer you get to succeeding, the stronger your doubt gets. It’s the self-survival mechanism of your inner opponent. Because once you have all the doubt removed and eradicated from your brain, then whatever you will think, you will achieve. The job of your inner opponent is to challenge you and prevent you from creating fulfillment. The job of the universe is to provide it. Today, forget the rationale your mind generates.

The universe is perfect, all knowing and all giving…it wants you to have all of your desires and dreams. It is each of us (our ego) that is self limiting.

Excellent words and inspiring commentary John. Thank you.

  29. EnzoNo Gravatar says:

    Hi John~
I agree with much of what you say and have written. At a minimum, your body of work has helped clarify my deeper beliefs. However, I also think you are missing the mark when it comes to whom you ask for things/understanding/energy/etc. It seems the truest and honest way that man can ask is by the action of prayer.

Adding to my first post (#21) analogy of the carpenter and his created table(#21)- praying to the “universe” is like a table praying to the house it dwells within instead of the true creator, the carpenter who designed and built them both. We must be careful not to worship creation, but rather the perfect loving creator who deserves our praise and the asking.

Off to enjoy boating on Merwin Reservoir with my wife and kids on this wonderful new day!

  32. EnzoNo Gravatar says:

Ok, we are on a bit of common ground. Thanks for your transparent feedback and thoughts. It is probably best to leave our conversation here.

Maybe our paths will cross sometime in the future and, over a coffee or glass of wine, we might pick up where we left off.

    Have a great week John!

Really liked the video John. How very important it is, as YOU say, to write the goals in each area down and to take them out to three and five years. Then chunk it down. Am enjoying your enthusiasm! Love and light to you.

  38. Michael WeissNo Gravatar says:

I have been through John’s coaching program and it is the real deal. I can’t stand rah rah coaching because when the rah rah is gone so is the energy. John’s program is life lasting and is something that you can continually improve upon once you learn the tools.

Ok – this is SCARY!!! If thisn’t Law of Attraction, I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS. Haven’t check this blog in AGES – And I really mean AGES. This morning, I was discussing some concepts from Mr. Assaraf’s first book “The Street Kid’s Guide To Having It All”, esp. the concept, “To Have More You must BE MORE, not just DO MORE…”. But why do I say it’s scary? Because a little while before that, we were discussing OUR LIFE IN NIGERIA when I was a child (my mom used to work in Nigeria). It was eery. I just happened to be sitting in front of the computer and a really loud voice said “why don’t you check John Assaraf’s website”. Man! Thanks for going to Nigeria and by the way he looks great in traditional African attire. Nigerians are very entrepreneurial and need an outlet for their creativity that is positive and law-abiding. YOU ROCK JOHN!

Photos from Africa

Hey friends,

Here are some photos taken in Nigeria this week at the event I spoke at called “The Platform”. It was sponsored by Pastor Poju of Covenant Church. He had read my book “The Answer” and saw the movie “The Secret” and wanted to expose the thinking and process of manifestation to the Nigerian people. 25,000 or so showed up and it was awesome. Here are some photos of the event, my bodyguards and more. I’ll write an article on the trip this week.

By the way, I’m holding a LIVE Q&A call this Thursday about my personal mentorship program. Ask me your questions about how to have your dreams become reality! Sign up here.

Hope you enjoyed!

However, seing that you started as a young man of 19, it should be
more easier for you than for me who by July will be 45 years of age,
and am just discovering what I should have known in my twenties.

Please I need your personal attention and help in order not to be
frustrated. I have a family to care for, but I am not meeting up, I
have a new business to grow it is quite tasking am yet to break even,
    am only existing.

I do not want to blame my disability (paraplegia) becauae Your words
have given me good hope but please I need more re-enforcement in any
way you deem it best for me.

Are You are too busy to mentor me? Then recommend me to someone while
I still get your attention from time to time.

    Your No 1 Nigerian Convert,

  19. JohnNo Gravatar says:

Seems I will coronate John with an “Igwe” or a “High Chief” or say an “Otunba”. All of that are Nigerian titles to show acceptability to someone who has influenced your community. I was there on Friday, 1st and it was a time to commence exploding into manifestation.
I dragged most of young friends to the event because I have read some of your work and it was awesome.
I know you have made an indelible mark and results will start to flow henceforth.
How was Paris and hope you had a nice time ministering there too.

Hello from Africa!

Hi friends,

I wrote this last night, but I didn’t have a chance to post it to my blog until this afternoon. Please enjoy it and join me tonight on a special call on overcoming whatever is holding you back from greatness. Register now.

—————————–

It’s 3 a.m. in Lagos, Nigeria and I wanted to share with you interesting stuff while I am in Nigeria giving lectures and consulting business owners.

The people here are starving for knowledge and have incredible opportunity here right now. 15 million in Lagos, 140 million in the country. In 99% of the land they lack the very basics we take for granted. Things like clean water, sewage (only 1% have proper sewage abilities) and shelter. I am in a 5 star hotel and just down the streets are shacks, like you see in movies and tv shows asking for money. The rich are very rich, the poor “dirt poor”.

However, people here want an end to corruption and have true chance of success — and are prepared to work for it. The business owners I had dinner with were constantly on their cell phones, some had two going at the same time! It’s great to see the sincere hunger and willingness to learn and grow that they are displaying. They asked me 100 questions like a rapid fire machine gun. The want knowledge, direction and leadership so they can carve for themselves a piece of their of the “American dream”.

On Friday I will be speaking for 50,000 people. Last night they brought in a tailor to the hotel to take my measurements so I can speak in their native garb! He came to the hotel at 9 p.m., and was instructed by my host to have my custom-made outfit by the next day no matter what. He obliged, took my measurements and smiled with joy as he left with an order that he would have to work on ALL night. THAT is a willingness to do whatever it takes! This will be a first and a way for me to connect with these individuals and their culture. After all, my father is from North Africa, Morocco.

—————————–

Ok, I’m gonna try and get some rest as its 3:51 a.m. right now. More to come! In the meantime, be very grateful for what we take for granted. All my best.

John

Such a simple statement “whatever it takes” The people of Nigeria have this willingness that many people in other parts of the world do not have because that burning desire for better results and a willingness to do whatever it takes is not there. Success comes from people that truly have this burning desire within them, no matter what their circumstances. When desire is stronger than circumstance, nothing will get in the way!

How the Brain Works

Your brain – that three-pound hunk of matter located between your ears – is the most sophisticated, complex, and miraculous piece of equipment ever known to humankind. It controls everything you see, say, feel, and do. With such a powerful tool at your disposal, isn’t it your responsibility to understand how it works and how to make it work optimally?

Here are some fundamentals.

First, it’s important to understand that you are nothing but energy. If you took a high-powered microscope and looked at the smallest, most fundamental pieces of matter – not atoms, protons, and electrons, but the minuscule neutrons, gluons, quarks, and mesons that these subatomic particles are made of – you would see nothing but little bits of electromagnetic vibrating waves of light. Those bits are what you’re made of, and your brain controls the vibration of every one of them.

Second, it’s important to know that your brain can grow new brain cells (or neurons) in a process called neurogenesis. Not so long ago, scientists believed that people were hardwired or born with genetic predispositions and makeup. But now when someone says, “That’s just the way I am, this is the way I was born,” we know they’re only half right. While genetic predisposition accounts for about half of your internal programming, the other fifty percent comes from behaviors, perceptions, beliefs, and habits you may have learned as far back as childhood and conditioned into your brain.

Here’s the good news: by understanding how your brain works, you can change your old conditioning and tap into your brain’s inherent genius to achieve your goals and dreams.

If you would like to discover how to overcome the beliefs that are hindering your success, then learn about how you can be personally mentored by me for the rest of 2009. Click here to learn more and to watch a video about how to Have It All!

  9. Debbie RustonNo Gravatar says:

John is right on with this information…there is now scientific evidence that we can absolutely change the way we think, letting go of past beliefs, past conditioning and fears and replace these old thought patterns with new thought patterns that will bring better results in our lives. It is time more people learned about the power they have within.

  14. Srinivas RaoNo Gravatar says:

I’ve enjoyed your blog posts John and glad to be one of your subscribers. I think it’s amazing what our brain is capable of and yet we don’t get an instruction manual for operating this thing that has more features and functionality than any device on the planet.

  15. Tony AlverioNo Gravatar says:

    Hey John,

Awesome content as always. The mind controls everything. The most challenging is programming our brain so we can establish a correct mindset to reach our goals.

Why are you stuck?

Look at this incredible statistic:

According to Dr. Edward Miller, Dean of John’s Hopkins’s University,

Nine out of ten people who have gone thru heart bypass surgery do not change their behaviors or lifestyles after surgery knowing they face death as a result of not changing!

It’s sad but true. There is also a way to stop this.

Read on to find out why this happens.

For over 20 years I have been studying why some people are able to achieve the success they want in life while others struggle daily as if fighting for the air they breathe.

The research that keeps coming back over and over again points to the human brain.

You are currently wired to experience and achieve exactly what your current results are showing you. Please don’t get me wrong, you are capable of much more, and that is why you are frustrated.

The way we are raised and taught when we are young will determine our results as an adult. If you are not happy with certain results in your life right now, you must change from the inside out.

Using will power and persistence is a temporary act that fizzles out very quickly, as you already know.

Your brain controls all your perceptions and behaviors. Unfortunately, its responsibility is to keep you at whatever current result you are getting. Nothing less and nothing more.

Sure, you can trick it to losing weight or making more money, but it will almost always bring you back to your current level of non-conscious expectations and true beliefs. That is its job.

The “Hard-Wiring” in your brain is your current level of programming or conditioning. You may not like it, but it’s the truth.

You can never achieve more in your life without adding new and “better programming”.

It’s like upgrading software on your computer. If you want better performance from your computer, you do something to the inside, not the outside.

Here’s the good news:

Using the latest in brain research and physics we now have brand new ways to get “inside” your head to help you make the mental shifts you must make first, in order to see the changes in your life on the outside.

People have been using the wrong tools for making change and that is why it is so frustrating. With the advancements we’ve made in science, many more people will be able to make more money and finally live the lives they dream of, in total health and balance.

It takes about 15 minutes a day to rewire the neural circuits of the brain and the results are amazing. Read below to see what Forensic Psychiatrist Dr Louis Cady has to say:

(I have hundreds of testimonials just like this)

“It was like I had been driving around in a Pinto and John gave me a Lamborghini. After more than a decade in private practice, this workshop finally provided the ‘missing link’ for me to effect much faster change in my patients—and myself!”

Louis B. Cady, MD – Child and Adult Forensic Psychiatrist, speaker, writer and consultant

If you are serious about creating abundance in your life and business and truly are prepared to invest yourself to do finally do it right, I highly recommend that you work with me over the rest of 2009 to help make the changes from the inside out. John,
I like the way you explain things. You are very clear and to the point. I would love to take your challenge, but there is no way I could even come close to able to pay for this. Yes I know you would say this guy really needs to change from the inside. But the fact is I just don’t have that kind of money. And you are right I can’t afford not to do this but the bottom line is truly MONEY.
    Thank You
    Joe Cassella

  7. John AssarafNo Gravatar says:

Many people think that its the lack of money that is the problem. NO IT”S NOT. The lack of money is the effect of what you are not thinking and not doing. I tell people to beg, borrow or figure something else out to be able to change the real cause of the problem. Lack of money is never the problem

  8. EdwinNo Gravatar says:

ello john my name is Edwin I just bought your program and let me tell you how much fun I,ve been having doing this and thinking about the good things tha are on my way for me thank you very much john for giving me a new begining in life i am looking forward to meet you soon in the very neer future edwin

  9. JohanneNo Gravatar says:

Sorry, but lack of money is a big problem. You can have a beautiful place to live, no car, no restaurant, no travel. You can take a walk but after a few years, it’s enough. Money is important to have a comfortable life, not for the big lux, just enough money to go to the restaurant or buy a car….

  10. garryNo Gravatar says:

g,day John so the fact that my credit card is empty is an illusion despite wanting to buy your stuff, so it,s not MONEY

  11. Qukin PalkiNo Gravatar says:

I would like to know the specific amount of personal contact you will have with program participants. Kisuk kyukyit (Good Day)

  12. john assarafNo Gravatar says:

again I will state, not having money is because of what has occured on not in the past. If someone slashed your tired, would you find the money somehow to replace them? In life we must ask, how can I vs all the reasons why I can’t.Either way, we are right. I will be hands on the whole program with the group, not one on one with each individual, fyi

    John,

Einstein’s grandmother encouraged his imagination. I’ve read that when he was with her and wanted to explore an idea, she would go all the way with it. Example: Young Einstein thought he’s like to be a fireman, so the went to the firestation for hand’s on learning. I *think* when thinking is combined with visceral experience it so much more powerful.
