Money – Money – and More Money

This post is going to be slightly longer than usual but I think you will enjoy it!

For over 20 years I have been fascinated with what it really takes to make a lot of money. I realized a long time ago that if someone else could do something or achieve something… then I could at least copy what they did, and get a similar… or better result.

In my younger years, making money was on top of my list so I became a very good student. But what I have discovered in my search is that it’s not just the people with the college degrees or the most potential who make the most money.

For example, you and I both could probably name some people who we think are smarter than we are, yet who don’t make as much money as we do. And we also could probably name some people who we think aren’t as smart as we are, but who make more money.

I was VERY fortunate that I had the desire to earn a lot of money…just as I hope you do. The reason I say that is because money is not hard to make if you understand how. But more than having just desire, I found a few mentors who really knew what making money was really all about; they were making millions, so I wanted to make millions.

As a matter of fact, I decided at the age of 22… that I was going to be a millionaire! I had no idea how…. but I was going to listen to the mentors and then do what they did.

Let me share with you a few simple things I learned that I think will help you on your quest for earning significantly more money. And since the “Street Kid” part of me wants it simple and fast, everything I do is about getting results now, not in 6 months. So everything you learn from me, you will be able to apply immediately.

So let’s begin.

NO “SMARTS” REQUIRED

First and foremost…earning a lot of money is not reserved for smart people. It’s reserved for people who do the right things – spiritually, mentally and physically, that attract money.

One of the first things you must understand is that the internal belief you have about what you think you can earn, is not your true potential, but a conditioned ‘belief’ based on your past results and old mental conditioning.

And as a reminder from previous reports… your internal image and conditioning controls what you focus on, attract and see. If you are conditioned to make $35k a year, all you see are opportunities and jobs in line with that image and focus. If you are conditioned to earn $200k a year, then all you are focused on is things that are in line with that financial level.

There is an exact science to earning money that most people have never been taught. I’ll give you an example of a couple of the easy rules you must understand for earning money. Without understanding and applying these simple rules, you are working harder than you need to be.

I’ve been able to help many people significantly increase their financial intake and lifestyle by simply understanding and following the information that follows, so here you go…

(Now remember, individually these rules may seem simple. But when you look at the 3 together…you’ll understand the potential effect they have on how much you can earn.)

Rule One: Define the overall market potential for the product, service or talent you have.

This is pretty easy: Do a lot of people need what you do or have…or is it just a few? The more potential there is for what you have or do, the more total money there is for you to attract. For example:

If you are a doctor, a salesperson, a secretary or a baker…there is a clear need in our society for what you do. The same holds true for professional athletes or musicians. There are some professions and products that have less need than others, therefore less earning potential.

Rule Two: I get paid in direct proportion to how replaceable I am… or how replaceable my product or service is.

In other words – how good are you? This is where earning money starts to get a little competitive. If you are easy to replace because the entry to what you do is easy, then you have to be very, very good to do well in that field. Otherwise you will have to share the potential intake between lots of people. The harder the entry, the higher the potential intake is because there are fewer people to share it with.

The same is true if you have a product or service that is easy to duplicate. Rarity increases value:

- Think of surgeon vs. a general doctor.
- Think of a rare original painting vs. a print.
- Think of an excellent salesperson vs. an ‘OK’ one.
- Think of how much Michael Jordan earns vs. a rookie…
- Think of any service you currently use that is so-so vs. another one that is excellent.

Who do you prefer to do business with? These 3 question areas should get you thinking about some of the basic stuff like…

1. How good is your product or service? If you aren’t the best, or close…. then why not?

2. What reasons are you ‘internally’ telling yourself for not being better? What is this costing you in financial intake and your life style?

3. Plain and simple – is your product, service or talent easily replaceable?

Rule Three: I get paid in direct proportion to how many people I can get to use and pay me for products, services or my talent.

Think about this for a moment: Compared to other people in your line of work, how good are you at getting people to know what you do and what you have to offer (your products and services lines)? And how good are you at getting them to use your products or services?

If you are honest with yourself about the answers, I think you’ll agree that in one or more of the areas there is room for improvement.

I’d like you to imagine what it would be like to double or triple your intake or revenues right now, what would you buy, where would you go, what would you have that you don’t right now?

I ask you these questions because I was asked them when I was 21. I liked the answers I came up with, so I decided to really go for it and learn and do what was needed.

If you don’t keep growing and learning, you’ve made an internal agreement with yourself that you are fine with how much money you are earning right now and with what you’ve got right now.

Until next time…

Create a great day!

John is very sincere with his words, but very constructive, i thought i would take this time to share my opinions, it’s very simple folks, you have to be certain now, right now at this very moment that you are a wealthy person, CERTAINTY is the million dollar word. Think right now something that your certain about, thats how you have to be in all areas of your life, with business you have to feel and act like a millionaire right now, my own experiences have led me to people that when i discuss business they perceive me as a millionaire, i am in mind body and soul, and though i can’t even come to say that i am not in actually paper money, my thoughts and feelings are, this is where the hard part is, if you can stop your ego and senses from taking over your imagination and attitude then you will be guided. look at it this way, a child when he plays make believe at that very moment this that he is in character, they actually beleive they are a princess or a furious warrior, etc. that is how we must be think it and feel it and if you consistently do this then you will be consumed by it and you will be guided. Think like a millionaire, act like a millionaire, talk like a millionaire, feel like a millinaire, walk like one, keep your head held up hi, be happy your wealthy now, and i guarantee that you will be guided in the right direction, time is but an illusion, right now is only real and your spirit is only real, everything else but an illusion. GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Hmmm, rules 1 & 2 are a little disconserting for me. I need a little help with this. Hope I articulate this correctlty. You, John are one of the teachers of “The Secret”. This is not the first time I have encountered these teachings. The very first was a christian movement in the 60s. We were called Jesus freaks back then. Anyway, I found trhis to be an amazing truth. I believe..ni I KNOW it is truth. The new twist with the secret was the science. That was an awsome addition as my education is serious science. Anyway, my confusion is this. I understand that the universe indeed, all things are energy. We can form this energy to be anything we want. It moght be the feather or the parking space (in the movie) or it can be a great new opportunity. That being said, rules 1 & 2 are much like business 101. It is very practical advice. It is not to be discounted in any way and that is not what I am doing here. However, where is the belief in changing circumstances with thought and feelings? Am I missing something here? The doctor that studies to become a surgeon will still be a surgeon regardless of how replaceable he is. Surgeons these days are struggling to make a buck. they are very limited and are looking for ways out everyday. If we are to beliece (as I do) that we can mold our very existance, then that surgeon will find another opportunity for success and will not need to depend on his skill set as a surgeon. I really hope that i am not being argumentative here. That is not my point. Just please help. I have gone from building an 8 figure liquid asset base (from nothing) to being close to being on the streets. I view this as an opportunity to grow, to have wealth greater that what is no longer but this time to have joy and a universal connection while having great wealth. Am I wrong???

I am starting to realize wanting to make more money and reach higher in life is exciting … not a bad thing. It helps me be positive and help others. Money is not the root of all evil following John’s lessons and coaching.

And Asaraf1 – just wanted to say I’ve been in a similar situation, lots of skills, where to put them, hard time getting started/directed — and what helped me is John’s article – I forget where I read it, maybe in the Free Resources – but hate to admit it, but it’s due to “Fear”.. Need to get rid of past conditioning… And reframe/reprogram…

OK, so I’m one of those that is really happy with where I’m at in my life with money at the moment. I think positively every day and have for the past 30 years. My life reflects that. When I was a baby I contracted Polio. I’m in a wheelchair now, I’ve accepted my disability very well and have not let it stop me. Now I’m encountering what they call Post-Polio Syndrome. After years of overextending muscles the neurons to the muscles start to die. This causes weaknesses and fatigue. I’m noticing pain on my weak side and am using The Secret to regenerate the cells in my body. If anyone out there can let me know their experiences with this type of thing I would appreciate it. I know it’s possible and would like any advise from you.

Insightful and inspiring. Another lesson learned and more importantly, to be practiced. In response, though, to Brian’s post: “feeling” frustrated is perhaps causing a delay in the results you want to experience. I know. Been there, done it. And through my on-going personal growth I am learning to go with the flow. As John stated in his lesson on The Law of Rythm, flow with the currents(life’s curves) and not against it – you will begin to feel less frustrated. In other words appreciate even the delays in events, knowing they are only just that – a delay, and that it does serve a purpose. Hope this helps. And thank you, John, for the wisdom.

Very inspiring John, but what do I do with all of this great info.? I am a stay-at-home dad for the last few years since I lost my job and I need to get back in the work force to start earning real money to help support my home and family, but I feel stuck because I don’t know what my real skills are that can be of value to potential employers. Also, I have trouble following thru. and taking action consistently on the goals I have set for myself. I keep forgetting all the goals i’ve set for myself and just living day-to-day. I need to get out there and earn money.I need to stop living this way. I approaching 50 soon and I am worried about my future and my family’s future. I have read/re-read, listened/re-listened to many self-help books and tapes but just can’t get myself to follow-thru. consistenly on the so-called solutions these books and tapes promises. I appreciate your advice.

THANK YOU! Every person who is in business should read this and then ask themselves those questions. As a business owner I am continually asking those questions so that I can stay above the competition. In the world of credit repair there are literally hunsdred of companies that offer this same type of service. My product has to be bigger, better, faster etc. A benefit is that I am the real deal. I’m not some window dressing on the internet asking for money. When my clients engage in my services I always greet them, assure them they are in good hands and explain how I can help them. My rpices are better than everyone because I don’t believe you need to mortgage your house to clean your credit yet I still get paid well for what I do/offer. In the early stages of this business my lack of skills and stinkin thinkin really got in the way and so I had to study and learn and reinvent the wheel basically. In fact I’ve been able to actually do better than my business mentor! I also approach every day and every prospect from a place of honest gratitude. If you can’t be happy for what you do already have, you ain’t gonna be happy with what you get when you do get it. I like to refer to this as a pre-paid gratitude account. I always make sure that, in my wn blog, I say just what it is I am grateful for, even if it’s something as simple and mundane and waking up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. The small things count the most, they are the key to the door of the universe. On those days when I am too busy or forgetful to blog, my day, my mind/body/spirit become sluggish and things just don’t work out the way I wanted them to. I’ve discovered that for me, the secret to my success is to be thankful for every inspired thought, everything I already have and everything that is on it’s way.
When you’re in business you have to continually adjust and re-adjust what you do and what you offer. You can’tbe “set in your ways” without it costing you in the end. Be flexable like the willow tree.

Great article John, and SO true….wealth does NOT require education, special degrees, or hard work, and long hours. Society has been conditioned to think or “buy into” this type of thinking, but it really comes down to a choice. First, a choice to get better results, then a choice to study other successful people and copy what they do. I made that choice 20 years ago to become an entrepreneur and now assist other people in seeing their potential and teach them how to become entrepreneurs. There IS a system to create wealth…you just have to be coachable and follow the system that successful people follow, instead of following the thoughts and beliefs of unsuccessful people.

Great post, thank you. And to tell you the truth it is right where I am at currently and I am frustrated as I do not Know what to do.
Currently I work as a health educator at a drug rehab. I do approxamately 6-8 lectures a week.
To toot my own horn I am a fantastic lecturer. And really I am fantastic with people and have great intuition. Better than most I would say.

Now What??? I really do not know. I grow and learn and read and apply information and meditate and visualize and it seems- seems being the key word that I am stuck.
My attitude is in grattitude, I there my be a move I don’t quite see yet.
A career switch I don’t know how to make possibly?

I feel lined up with all I have read and studied so far. I would just feel silly if I were so close and didn’t see the next move… Thanks
