How Oprah used a vision board to envision Barack Obama as president

Dreams do come true! Talk show star Oprah Winfrey revealed this week that she uses a vision board to visualize her goals and harness the power of intention. So what did Oprah have on her vision board? The gown she intended to wear to a very special event – the Obama inauguration.

Here’s what Oprah told a New York radio station on Tuesday:

“I was speaking with Michelle [Obama] and Caroline Kennedy and Maria Shriver – we were all doing a big rally out in California. At the end of the rally Michelle Obama said something powerful, ‘and I want you to leave here and envision Barack Obama taking the oath of office.’ I created a vision board. I had never had a vision board before. I came home, I got me a board and put Barack Obama’s picture on it and I put a picture of my dress I want to wear to the inauguration.”

Want some tips on how to put the power of intention to work with your own vision board? Go to TheVisionBoardKit.com for a downloadable free chapter that includes the eight basic ingredients of a successful vision board. You can achieve your dreams!

The visual element of manifesting desires is a POWERFUL PROCESS. I used it to attract all of the celebrities for my new book :) Thanks for the amazing reminder John!

Thanks for sharing! I think many of us had that vision – maybe not on such a personal level, but I know that every time I started thinking about a McCain-Palin victory, I’d consciously switch from feelings of dread to visualizing an exciting Obama-Biden victory!

The most exciting thing about this post, in my opinion, is that the Obamas know the Secret…and just think of the amazing things they can do with that – and all of the positive energy that is clearly circling the country (if not the globe)!

It is very exciting to be part of this new chapter…

Today I felt compelled to visit a place where I knew I could get some brochures that were connected to one of my current goals. While there, I was also gifted two large posters that are symbolic of my goal. They are now proudly displayed in my home.

In fact, in every room I have visual references of this particular goal. It’s a big goal but I know I can achieve it.

    Yes I can!

The visual references evoke a powerful emotional response every time I look at them which help to keep me inspired to go after my dream.

    Hey John.

I could not love this one more. I read it, I watched it. I did it. And frankly, I KNOW (as you do about me) the power of a vision that is clear strong and filled with intention. I’ll give you an example: today, I got a commitment from a company to buy my $50K product. They are a VERY well know hotel chain and I talked directly to their VP today. (The buck stops there.) The power of vision boards are not in themselves alone. It requires passion, feeling, thought, visualization and a clarity people don’t seem to understand. Your vision board kit (I know because I read/did/watched) it, simplifies it down to the BASIC details. I am grateful to know you and to validate all of this. It is, indeed, a wonderful thign, folks when people like John can break it down for you in SUCH simple clarity.

This is so cool. And as I look at my life, what I presently have in it was manifested this way. Hmmm, let me go update my vision board,

    This is good stuff John

Vision boards rock my world. Thanks for this post John. I really get the point here too. I don’t think this is saying that because Oprah created a vision board, Obama was elected president (although Oprah is a powerful lady). I think the big take away from this post is that there is nothing you can’t put on your vision board. Every action you take may even maintain some level of influence onto the universe! This is a great philosophy to live by. Align your vibrations with big ideas, not small ones, right?

    Hey John,

I wouldn’t write this post if I didn’t believe John was all about abundance.

I have tried out a concept called mind movies where you buy a small piece of software that lets you piece together up to a 9:59 minute movie that streams pictures you pick, to your choice of music along with powerpoints you fill in of your beliefs or affirmations that you insert in between pictures of what you’d like to bring into your life.

John’s system is the way to go if you’re a techno phobe for sure because all you need is a magazine and a board, but if you’re looking for the next level go to mindmovies.com and check this process out.

I don’t work for them or get any kind of affiliate commission so please understand I’m only posting this because I believe it’s an enhanced version of the Visionboard.

I love it. Maybe you will too.

Actually, you can do a whole lot just with PowerPoint. I’m not big on paper, so I made my vision boards virtual too. I have a slideshow and also set it up as a screensaver so it automatically kicks on after 3 minutes of inactivity.

I posted about The Complete Vision Board Kit on my blog, and at the end of the post I included my “virtual vision board” — if you want to see an example, see http://www.thevirtualhandshake.com/blog/2008/11/14/the-complete-vision-board-kit
