How to get more of what you want

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Hey, are you going to be near a phone this Wednesday? I’m hosting a teleconference and I wanted to let you know ahead of time. A limited number of seats are still left, so you should register now if you want to join the call before the slots fill up.

As you may know, for years I’ve been studying the Law of Attraction and the art and science of getting what you want in life. Scientists have made some incredible discoveries about how our brains work, and I have combined these findings with my real-world experience as a very successful entrepreneur… so now I’ve assembled all of this into a really cool new product.

It’s called “Having It All: Achieving Your Life’s Goals and Dreams” and I can’t wait to tell you about it. The teleconference is this Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 5 p.m. Pacific time. Post-call follow-up: Listen to the audio – click here.

Thanks!

John

It’s not your fault

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Have you ever wondered what’s really holding you back from achieving all your dreams and making the money you really want to make?

Well, worry no more. It’s not your fault. The latest research of the most advanced information on the human brain and its effects on our success uncovers truly revolutionary insight.

Here are just a few of the newest neuro-scientific discoveries that are blowing away scientists:

1. It is now known that humans think on 6 different levels at once, yet only one sixth of it is at a conscious level.

This means that 83% of the time you are acting automatically at a non-conscious level. This explains why just making a decision is nowhere nearly enough if you want to improve any of your results. You must re-train your brain if you want to achieve more. This is also why diets don’t work.

2. Another great discovery is that non-conscious brain cells (neurons) can detect and pick up information up to 800 times faster than conscious neurons. The good news is that you can now train these faster brain cells to work for you, not against you. This is absolutely using your real power and not just 17% of your real abilities.

3. A third great discovery has to do with your Amygdala. This part of the brain has been conditioned at a very young age by your parents, teachers and the events in your life.

The Amygdala doesn’t like change and will release neuro-transmitters anytime you try to change something in your life. Any deviation from what is your norm right now sets this off and basically causes you to revert back to your old patterns of thoughts and behaviors. This explains why most people have a hard time leaving a job or relationship they aren’t totally happy with.

It also explains why people stay at the same income bracket year after year. It may not be what they want, but it’s what they are accustomed to and conditioned to expect.

So if you wondered what was holding you back from achieving all your dreams and making the money, don’t worry. It’s not your fault.

Best,
John

The Value of an Hour

Monday, June 11th, 2007

When I was 21 years-old, a gentleman asked me what I thought the value of an hour was. I honestly did not know how to answer the question. He went on to teach me one of the most valuable lessons I have ever learned.

He suggested that the value of an hour was priceless. This confused me some, so this is what he said to me.

"If you invest one hour each day in understanding yourself and your environment better, you will accumulate nine 40-hour weeks over the course of a year!"

Yikes! As you can imagine I was blown away when he put it to me that way.

Nine 40-hour weeks? This seemed impossible until I did the math. 365 days, times one hour each is…yup, nine 40-hour weeks!

He went on to ask me how good I could get at something if I did it all day, every day for just over 2 months. Well, you already know the answer to that.

I thought I could be awesome!

He went on to tell me that over the course of just five years, I would have invested the equivalent of 1,825 hours of focus on whatever I desired to accomplish my life.

Imagine for a minute, how good you can become at anything that you did one hour a day for the next year. How fit could you get? How much more in love would you get and give? How much more money could you earn?

Let me suggest that one hour is a small price to pay in comparison to the payoff. Just one hour a day may be the razor’s edge you need to really get the results you want in your life.

For me, the decision was easy. I have been studying human potential and the mind for over 20 years. Each time I think I’m getting a good handle on it, I am gently reminded of how much there is to observe and learn.

Is getting what you want worth an hour a day? I certainly hope so.

I still manage to set aside my hour to read motivational stories or listen to inspirational people. They are the fuel for my mind and it keeps me learning and yearning for more.

Please adopt an hour a day for yourself! Pick one area of your life that you want to improve and commit the next 90 days to that one thing.

I assure you that the results you achieve will be well worth the decision! And remember…you can’t take out of life more than you put in.

Beware of Psychic Vampires

Friday, June 8th, 2007

I am often asked how I stay happy and motivated all the time. The answer has two parts to it; positivity and self-talk.

Many years ago I had a colleague who was forever complaining about everything and everyone in her life. Each day when she arrived at the office, it would start, "you wouldn’t believe this…can you imagine he did that…this will never work, I’m so tired…" and so on. This would go on all day and it would drive everyone in the office nuts!

She was what I like to refer to as a "Psychic Vampire", someone who tries to steal away your great thoughts and energy. Her negative energy would wear you down if you allowed it to penetrate you. The negative ideas that she came up with on a constant basis really affected some of the employees.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVITY

I have made it my absolute law that I do not allow any negative people anywhere near me. I only surround myself with people who are positively charged both mentally and physically. The exchange between us is vibrant and energizing, not depleting.

We are all just made up of energy, and we release and take on energy with every breath and thought. We must be very careful with whom we associate with and with whom we allow into our energy zone.

POSITIVE SELF TALK

The other very important distinction is being aware of my own "self talk".

The chatter in my own mind is even more important than what others say. Keep your thoughts positive. If you find yourself caught up in negative self-talk stop at once and change your internal chatter. You must be aware of the times you aren’t saying or thinking nice thoughts about yourself. You are listening and conditioning your hidden self-image whether or not you are aware of it.

If I ever catch myself talking negatively to myself I immediately change "mental tracks" and say something positive to myself. If something comes up over and over again, I know there’s a deeper challenge I must address. I then go to work on reconditioning my mind with affirmations that are opposite to the negative mental chatter.

For the next seven days become very aware of the people around you, and do not allow any negative energy around you.

Also, be in tune with the mental chatter that goes on in your own head. Stop any negative dialogue that you catch yourself having, and replace it immediately with something positive!

10 Questions - Do you have what it takes?

Monday, June 4th, 2007

I think I have been asked at least 5,000 times what it really takes to be successful in business or your career, so I jotted down 10 questions you can use to gauge whether you already have what it takes, or if you need to do a little “work” to get there.

Many years ago I heard Jim Rohn say that you either pay the price of discipline or the price of regret. Discipline weighs ounces…regret weighs tons!

With that said, here are 10 questions to ask yourself:

1. Are you disciplined?
2. Do you take rejection personally? What about criticism?
3. Do you bounce back quickly from making errors or failing over and over again?
4. Are you a planner or do you do things by the seat of your pants?
5. Are you prepared to take risks? Moderate or Big?
6. Do you stay focused on one thing and one thing only until the result you want is achieved?
7. Do you have the stamina to keep going long after everyone else is tired?
8. Can you delegate well, or are you the only one who can do things right?
9. Do you wait for things to happen or do you aggressively go after what you want?
10. Do you do whatever it takes to achieve your goals or just what’s convenient?

These questions are critical for you to ask yourself in order to get a true picture of your nature and behavior. What I have found is that successful people are aware of the consequences of not being efficient in these areas, and find other ways, resources or people to manage for them. Good Luck!
