I get asked a lot about time off and how I manage to take so much of it to play.
Many years ago one of my mentors taught me that the human body is like a multi-billion dollar racehorse. If you owned that horse, how much time off would you give it in between races?
The answer seems simple enough, but somehow we get caught up in the stress of day-to-day life and we forget to rest. And I mean really rest!
I know that putting in 18-hour days is not uncommon for me because I love what I do. I am sure that you also just go, go, go… all the time between work, parenting, friends, exercise, problems, etc.
One of the best practices that I took on many years ago is what I call my six weeks on, one week off routines. Here’s how it goes… I play full out for six weeks, then full off for one week.
This gives me the chance to really unwind and do zip, nada, nothing. I get a chance to totally rejuvenate, and what I’ve found is that I am so ready to get back to creation once I am truly rested, that I am ten times more productive.
I used to feel that if “I just push a little longer, I’ll get more done”, but the truth is that the quality of my work was not up to my highest standard.
As a matter of fact, I’ve been working seven days a week now for weeks, preparing for my TV and radio tour and I’m feeling very overwhelmed with the loads of stuff that need to get done.
So guess what I’m going to do right now? I’m going to go to the gym and NOT think about all that I have to do and I’m going to give myself a mental break even though I have piles of “stuff” that have to get done.
I’m going to get out of the “I’m supposed to do this now” thinking and give myself a mental break.
What is your release mechanism and plan for rejuvenating your body and soul?
We all need to take care of ourselves. And creating a regular system is the best way to refresh ourselves.
I’ve also gotten into the habit of having a two-hour massage once a week, and it allows me to have someone “do” for me instead of me always being the one who “does”.
Choose an activity or ritual and create a plan that allows you to really get the physical and mental rest you need. You’ll find that you’ll reduce stress and be much more productive than ever before!
And while you’re at it, remember to create a great day!

Professional athletes and other highly successful people use the power of visualization technique on a regular basis. Why? Results of a 20-year study of the effects of visualization on results revealed an amazing discovery. Humans see pictures on the screen of the mind when thoughts are being processed; i.e. when they think of things.
For example, if a person, let’s say, George, stopped doing what he was doing right now, closed his eyes and thought of his car. What would he see? Is it the word CAR that pops up on the screen of his mind or a visual image?
Mentally, here’s what is actually happening…
George is accessing a memory from his mind that was instilled while he was first learning what a “car” is. Then specifically, his present car popped up. He didn’t always know it was called a car.
Similarly, other humans associate names with images or other forms of stimuli as a way to refer back to them in the mind. And here’s an example of why this simple talent is so important.
Let’s go back to George for a moment. When he goes to find his car after he’s been at a shopping mall, all he is focusing on is finding the image that he has inside his head for his car. He quickly scans the parking lot and with lightning speed eliminates all other cars until he finds the familiar one that he is focused on.
With this example in mind, here is a behind-the-scenes look at how to use visualization to achieve any goal.
Visualize an outcome you want over and over again to build ‘cells of recognition’ in your memory bank, just like you may have had with a car or other learned object when you were younger. This serves in the following two ways.
First: you become consciously and acutely aware of everything that can help you achieve the visualized outcome that you desire. (Just like looking for a car). You quickly scan over anything that is not in tune with that image.
When you continuously focus on an image in your mind, every cell in your body is involved in that image and you vibrate and resonate with everything that is in harmony with that frequency both on a physical and non-physical level. This frequency moves you towards, and moves everything that is needed towards you, for the manifestation of the desired image.
Second: you impress an idea into the subconscious part of you, it eventually becomes ‘fixed’ and you automatically attract and move towards that which you desire.
The reason athletes practice visualization is because they want to condition their mind in such a way that the body automatically behaves the way they want it to without effort. It is the only way to become ‘unconsciously competent’.
The same is true for highly successful people. If they visualize the success they want over and over again, eventually their bodies will automatically do whatever it must to make the image a physical reality.
The outside world is a mirror image of the inside and hidden mental world. Unfortunately, very few people have really taken the time to learn this side of their personality. And that is unfortunate because this is the part that is so powerful.
To visualize is to direct unseen energy into an orderly vibration and that is what is needed to manifest desires of the inner self. Desires must first be created in thoughts and then they are created in ‘ real life’. Humans are the sum of what they think about and focus on most.

1B,
Thanks for the kindly response. First and foremost, no matter what you do – enjoy it as a warm, memorable and functional part of your existence. If you have goals, continue the journey with passion and purpose. Life is the most wonderful journey you will ever take: The destination is the bonus. It can be greater than you ever thought possible, if you remain positive.
You should never want or need success more than anything. That action will put up blocks. Work towards your goals with a great attitude. Never use desperation as a tool – it’s a negative and will work against you.
My journey is ongoing, having begun many years ago. I continue to evolve and enjoy life’s journey.
As a child I began to write motivational quotations and have continued the process. It acts as a yardstick against which I measure my growth and development. I have enough to fill a book and I’m working on that at the moment.
The journey each of us takes differs from one to the other, yet none is more or less important than another. Your journey will continue to be an individual process. Others may comment and give their opinions yet you must make the decision on where you are going and how the journey is evolving – for you.
My journey is a work in progress. There are no mistakes in life, as long as we learn from them. They’re simply life’s way of assisting us to take stock of just where we are in our lives, how we’re feeling about ourselves and the best way to move forward to achieve our goals.
You must first begin to eliminate the negatives from your thoughts, words and actions. This is certainly not a simple process, but it does work. The constant use of certain words, stimulates the subconscious and adds fuel to your visualisation. If you use positive words, they will constantly fuel your onward journey towards great things. Negative words will have the reverse effect.
For instance, we use words such as ‘struggle’, ‘problems’, ‘failure’, ‘can’t’, ‘never will’ and phrases such as ‘I can’t win’; ‘I’ll never be able to do it’; ‘I’m no good’; ‘I’ll never amount to anything’ and the list goes on. This process is what I term destructive visualisation. It simply places us in a position of recurring failure. I was once told by someone close to me that, ‘My life had passed me by” and “I will never amount to anything’. Had I listened, I would have allowed the negative words and actions of another to impact my life and bring me down to that person’s negative and destructive level.
Often it’s jealousy which leads a person to try and steal your dreams. That’s impossible if you don’t allow it to happen.
We all err at times, but it is important to maintain the positive outlook on life, no matter what you’re presented with. Begin and end each day with a series of personal quotations as I do. Offer true gratitude for everything that’s good in your life.
Begin today to eliminate negativity from your world. Say thank you for ever the most seemingly insignificant blessing. You see a bird on the window sill: A stranger smiles: You receive a phone call from a friend when you feel down: You see a flower bloom out of season: The sun shines through the dark clouds. The list here too, is endless.
Never be afraid of the possibility of failure; instead, be overjoyed at the probability of success. That’s the key to achieving more in your life and filling your every waking moment with abundance. Emotional, physical, mental and spiritual success comes from a belief in yourself and a firm knowledge that you are on the right track: You do have all the skills necessary to achieve all that you want and when you begin to live every day with the sure and certain knowledge that success and abundance are your right, you can have everything you desire. All things are possible when you follow the rules.
Have a strong and supported plan of action. Never sit by and simply await success. Unless you are looking for it with your visualization, dreams and plans, it will surely pass you by.
If you simply stand on the side of the road with your mouth open, you will never catch a breath. You must breathe – this is a golden rule of life. Taking a breath is taking affirmative action to capture success and abundance. It’s capturing life and bringing colour and stimulation to your existence.
I wish you every continuing success.
Warm regards,
Kieran

Kieran,
That is one of the most uplifting comments I’ve read. I’ve just recently become aware of the law of attraction. It’s been about 3 to 4 months and although I am excited about things that are happening in my life right now, in reading your comments, I see where I want to be. I was wondering how long it took you to get to where you are right now spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Please feel free to give any input that might describe your efforts in your journey. Thank you.Kieran,

Thank you. Many of life’s problems are inherent. They stem from the belief patterns held by our parents and instilled in us during our formative years. Once we begin to formulate our own opinions, based not on the thoughts of others, but rather on our own journey, we begin to believe for/in ourselves. We begin to listen to thevery resolute and clear thinking voice inside, which gives us advice, directions and encouragement.
All too often, we ignore the voice and act on impulse. Dreams and visions are a crucial part of that inner voice. What’s real and what is visionary are blurred and subconsciously intertwined. If we can dream it, we can visualise it: If we can see it as clear as daylight, we can bring it from the realm of our subconscious into the warm and stimulating light of reality. Therefore, what you dream and believe, you can achieve.
Once you have a strong and unwavering self-belief, a strong and functional plan of action and a powerful vision of how you want your life to evolve, it can. It must, because the Universe works in harmony with our positive, uplifting thoughts. We are all light and energy and therefore, an integral part of the Universe. We can have a real and positive effect not just on ourselves and those around us, but on the world at large.
Procrastination is one of the greatest enemies of success and abundance. Once we plant in our psyche the notion we are shackled by time, or the presence and/or actions of other people/circumstances, we are immediately setting ourselves up for certain defeat. The vicious circle of emptiness will continue.
Believe you can and you will: Empower yourself with an unerring faith in personal success. Never rely on the input from others to carry you to your destination. Never walk in the shadow of others, nor rely on their light to show you the way forward. We all have our inner glow; we all have a destiny. It’s personal and it’s magnificent. Once we open the map and take the time to look, we will find our way – often through a maze of hurdles, stairs and crevasses. It is there and waiting for us to lay claim.
Make up your mind to take the journey. It won’t always be easy or accessible. There will be times when you deviate. You will falter and sometimes lose your way. Stay focused and keep the fire burning. Believe you are on the path to abundance and you surely will be. Take time to smell the flowers along the way. Feel the sunshine of achievement on your face – the intensity of belief will increase with each forward step.
‘What others believe of us is important. What we believe of ourselves is paramount’. ‘Help comes to us when we are most needy: Accolades come when we most worthy’.
The greatest tribute we can receive is that from within. Respect yourself at all times and have faith in your own ability. Welcome success and always have gratitude for the goodness that fills your life. Turn your success into a habit!
I wish you all, every continuing success.

Kieran

kieran88@tpg.com.auReally, it’s rather simple but it’s not easy. If you purchase the Having It All materials and study them, you will find the answers. Generally speaking, it’s NOT just about visualization – but that is indeed one part of it. Real change and results require a lot of reconsitioning of yourself and your thought patterns. This can be accomplished but does require a level of commitment and follow through. I think people want to believe that there is some woo-woo magic bullet solution, when the real magic in the solution comes from within you. It comes from clarity of your goals, from visualization, meditation, mental reconditioning and more. Again, it’s simple but not necessarily easy. But like anything else, you can create a habit in 30 days if you keep at it.
What is the difference, if any, between daydreaming and visualization?
What is the difference, if any, between daydreaming and visualization?
My feeling is if you are looking for a job, that you have to do the essential things to put yourself out there where you can be found, like posting your resume, or answering an ad, but I feel pushing the job search until you feel torchered is trying to make it happen for yourself, instead of leaving the “how to make the job happen” to the Universe. It’s enough to keep the intent for the good job in mind as you go through the normal routine of a job search. I would also have the faith that you would only get an offer for the job that is meant for you. That’s the way I see the Law of Attraction working. Taking the job search to the point of feeling frustrated will have negative consequences, because it will affect how you come across in your interviews.
Folks: Lets get this moving.
Your feedback please !!The topic is on visualization.
Lets say you asked the Universe
for your need ? OK so we put a
picture on our wall or favourite
place where we can remind ourselves
and be happy that it is on it’s way.
Then we visulaize this every now
and then ( whenever our eyes pass
by the picture ).So what’s next ? Most of the books,
articles I read said you don’t have
to work for the next step.
Just keep on waiting, expecting ?
A clue will appear. It may take
time. Until then Visualize….This is the most confusing step.
Lets say you need a new job. So you
write a descripion, have your resume
ready, Have the suit, tie and shoes
ready ? Maybe post your resume in
MONSTER.COM. Now that will be my first
step. Whats next ??? Do we have to
spend the entire night reading
newspapers and surfing the internet?
Then some folks even go take classes
to improve their interview skills ?
Some folks just panic and do whatever
it takes to get the next job. Lots
of hard work and an emotional
nightmare. This is what most normal people do.
Some of the folks who lost their
job spent 60 hours/week on
job search.I find this to be way against the
“SECRET law of attraction”
Your just working your way until you
find the job. You don’t even know
whether you will get any job.
And finally when they get some job
they will accept it ( because they
had enough of the mental agony and
torture )Folks: Lets get this moving.

Waas… I’m sorry for being confusing. I mean all the things you mention, be happy (positive frame of mind), take actions – like networking, engaging in life, and the next step will appear.
Question to Brown Eyed Girl:
I am confused. What do you mean when you say we have to “show up” ? You mean we have to take some actions ? Or do we wait expecting the next step ? Please explain ? Or did you mean we have to be happy and smile about it and go with our day-to-day life ?

PLEASE REPLYBrown Eyed Girl,
I think what we do, is visualize and feel what we want in our lives, but it has to be specific.. How does “the Universe” know what to do, when we are confused? You’ve heard the story about the woman who wanted a husband, and what she got was a married man (!).. And the detachment part is = we let “the Universe” figure out the way it is going to happen. “The Universe” is all-knowing, and we have to let our “ego” and “control” get out of the way for the law of attraction to begin… or what Biblically is called “having faith”… It’s unnatural, but we have to quit trying to “control” the “how”… but, we do have to “show up” – meaning, it’s not going to happen, just lying on the couch wishing about it…hum, smile, sing to yourself, go places, read, network, do hobbies, enjoy your work and family, keep active and smile a lot! BE happy.Hi John: Can you recommend any good books on brain research?
Also, I am new to blogging, so what is the etiquette on blogging material, ie, may I post material from your blog on a social networking sight? Thanks.

Hi There
May you kindly also comment on Caryn’s question. I have read the same thing too & I’m not sure where to draw the line. the question is : on onw hand, I’ve read you’re supposed to have feelings about what you want, and on the other I’ve heard one should be detached from it. This is what I’m struggling with the most.

Guys
Are dreams (dreaning at night) linked to visulisation & affirmations. I have been doing both and now all of a sudden I am dreaming that I have achived one of my goals. Is there something that I’m doing wrong. Is it ok to have dreams that relates to my affirmations & visualisation?

Thank you for this information. The power of visualization help me and my sister to view what would be the best results after our loving father 80yrs of age passed away. He had that power of visualization. Thank you again.

Another thing we do when we process thoughts is sub-vocalize. We move our tongue very slightly and say the words that we are thinking. So, in order to cut out the mind chatter, when we are meditating, say, it helps to immobilize the tongue. Put it down to the floor of your mouth and keep it curled up there, and you won’t be able to think in words.

Hi John:
Thank you for the invitation. This subject interest me a great deal because I seem to be the master of doing it in reverse–that is focusing on the negative. However, i don’t seem to be as strong with positive visualization. Why is that?
In reply to Sharmaz and Yvette’s dilemma… for what it’s worth
…I have found that bumps in the road, are still leading me to my goal, but my “ego” is getting in the way predetermining the journey. Sometimes, we have to learn or experience “something else” to make everything fit into place, and the planets are lining up our affairs so the final outcome can occur. For example, the right person who will help your business can’t appear, because they are clearing up some of their matters – so be patient! Or we need to clear up our own matters, for that person to come into our lives… get the gist? My daughter wrote a poem, I would like to share:
I rededicate my whole
I reclaim my soul
I forget all I know
And here I flow.

Hi John,
Great info. Please answer this for me. When visualizing myself in the desired outcome, should I see myself as a mirror image or the camera behind the wheel of the car image where all I would see is whatever is in front and to the sides of me? Thanks a bunch.

Folks
I am with you. I have similar questions.
The “SECRET” works but the timing ???
Just like you I have some pictures with
me. I look at them daily. They will come
but haven’t.
In my personal experience, I have felt
that the universe likes to fool me.
Here is a fact: The otherday, I went to the
park with my kids, saw a beautiful mountain
bike. I stared at it for a few minutes. True,
I really liked it but never was in my list.
Besides I knew spending $150 was not worth.
Then, Sunday came, I purchased the newspaper,
I see this coupon for the same bike going
at $50 at Toys’R'Us. Wow! I bought it.
So then I didn’t have to feel about it
think about it it just came with one
feeling, so damn quick at an unbeatable
price. On the other hand, the stuff in my list,
I am waiting just like you…!
Here is my 2 cents again:
1. Don’t put pressure on yourself.
2. Let time pass by.
3. Fight your doubts. I see that some of
you are just getting ready to give up.
No! No! Now is not the time. Hang ON!
4. Read the “SECRET” audible version
(from audible.com ) In this, the original
author shares more examples. There is
more stuff than the DVD (4 hrs) organized

Good Luck and thanks for sharing with us.Here is my 2 cents.
Things don’t manifest according to our time table. Don’t hurry.Let me ask you ? Do you really love to have those that go in that board ? Rememer in the “THE SECRET” dvd one author said, you have to generate the feeling of having it now ( If you need furniture, go to a furniture store, look at it and make yourself feel the real happiness of having it ). This was told in the “SECRET”.
So take some actions and really make yourself feel that actual happiness as if it was really there. Do this every now and then.
Remeber the “SECRET” said, this universe responds to how you feel ( No just the goal ).Does this make sense ?
When John dreamed of a house his mind and heart went into one particualr house which, from his heart he loved. He generated the feeling everytime he looked at it. So his goals manifested. He didn’t hurry.
Hope this makes sense.Hi John
Thank you for all the fantastic information that you have supplied.
I bought the DVD for the Secret and started putting into practise all the points in which I felt I needed work. Then I listend to you interview with Bill Harris and I thought, I would like to follow the same guidelines that you used. So I went and bought a Veld board and pinned my goal list on it & I put another goal list of mine just by my bed so that I can see this all the time.
Please help me to understand that, I have been putting in such effort to follow through these principels which worked for me in the beginning, however now I am starting to get canellations and people not turning up for work etc;
Do you maybe have any advice for me.?

So what is happening when you visualize something frequently and often and it still doesn’t come to pass? I’ve been as specific as I can be with what I visualize, feel great about what I’m visualizing, took inspired action and still haven’t manifested what I want. :/
One one hand, I’ve read you’re supposed to have feelings about what you want, and on the other I’ve heard one should be detached from it. This is what I’m struggling with the most.

Hi John!
Thank you for the reply. I am somewhat new to blogging and it seemed to me that these were conversation starters for others to participate in. I am pleased that you take the time to be personally involved.
I joined the Powerful Intentions community so I could surround myself with like-minded individuals and I now appreciate your site as well.
Your last comment “The more you visualize what you want, the faster the brain looks to make it happen in real life.” is why I enjoy this interaction with those who make things happen in their lives. It’s like being in the soup with you. While participating in the converstion, I visualize my being a part of this thinking in a greater way and my intention is that my brain looks to make it happen in real life faster!
With appreciation,
DeanHi Dean,
The reason you feel the same way when you replay stuff in your mind is because the exact same chemicals are being relaesed in the brain as if the event was happening right now. That is how powerful the brain is and goes to show that that subconscious doesn’t know the difference between an imagined event or a real one.The more you visualize what you want, the faster the brain looks to make it happen in real life.

JohnHi,
Great info! Sometimes I find myself remembering an earlier incident in the day or an engram from a previous time in life and, as I am replaying this in my mind, I notice that I am experiencing the same bodily sensations that occurred at the time of the incident. If this was what I chose to be an unpleasant incident with matching unpleasant sensations then this visualization is not serving me well.
When I catch myself in the act of negative visualization and realize the powerful impact of it, I try to replay it in my mind while creating a positive outcome of my choosing.
By no means have I mastered this technique as of yet. Many times I catch myself AFTER the negative memory/visualization is complete. But, even then, I may replay the incident with a different outcome or create an entirely new visualization that is more in line with my intentions.
Life is great!
Dean

“Scientists can finally prove what Buddhists have sworn by for centuries – mediation really does sharpen and clear the brain,” reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
The article, published July 9, details research at the Flinders Medial Centre’s Centre for Neuroscience, in which scientists measured the electrical activity of the brain in a group of people as they moved from simple eye-closed resting through the five stages of meditation as defined in Buddhist teachings.
Not surprisingly, the study found that spending time in the alpha brainwave state improves concentration and alertness.

My question is: Can you describe how you yourself meditate? I have yet to find the best way for me and am trying to find out how people do it. many thanks – Kevin

John, I think meditation is great and I recommed all my clients to Centerpointe. They all just rave about the results.
I have been using Holosync to meditate. The results are amazing.

Thanks for the responses on meditationI just listened to a Wayne Dyer tape and am going to start today
Meditation also works on anti-aging and health. Yogis are known for their superior health and slow aging process. I am always mistaken for being 20 years younger. Deep meditation, in my opinion, is similar to hibernation, relaxing not only the brain, but all the other organs – letting our whole system rejuvenate. And studies I have read have shown we can actually change our DNA.
I love my daily meditation. It’s like going on a holiday trip within myself and it also increases my sleepquality at night.
Kind regards, DiThanks, the newest reports are awesome and worthy of understanding. I now meditate daily and we teach it to everyone now.

Thank you John! I am a novice at meditation, and am happy to know the benefits are now proven…I think I’ll add meditation to my early afternoon schedule instead of just in the mornings..to help kick that braindead feeling I tend to get just after lunch. Funny how reading your blog gave me that idea. You’re awesome!

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling.
It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see.”
“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its richness and savored its aroma.
The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, mother?”
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity – boiling water. Each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
“Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?”
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get even better and change the situation around you.
When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you’re the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

That is a great story to learn from and to share with others. I never would have thought that I would like to be like coffee! I probably will not look at a cup of coffee the same way again. It will be a wonderful reminder. Thanks for the story and for the lesson.

I am a 50 yr old male. I’ve over come dyslexia, and 15 years of childhood abuse. I am now a writer with a screenplay in development and meeting people in Morgan Freeman’s Revelation Films, Sony Image works VP’s. I was once so insecure that the mere mention of this level of human ( achievement driven story ) would make me stutter, throw up or begin shaking so much it could never happen. They occurred better than me, above the image of myself. I do not have any degrees do to stories that said i was learning disabled and today i am opening my tenth show of my artwork and having conversations with people who once appeared out of reach.
I haven’t totally conquered the old dis empowering beliefs around abundance but i know that is just around the corner.

[...] A great story to reflect upon, from John Assaraf. [...]
After I read this I called my 30 year old daughter and read it to her. We both got a lot out of it and I think we realized something about ourselves as well. Both of us have faced much adversity in our lives, both together as mother and daughter and now as seperate women living our own lives. This story found a place on my wall, framed, to remind us to stay the coffee. LOL.
Thanks for sharing this story with us.J

Hi John and everyone,
Thanks for this blog! This made me realize I may be a bit more “hard-boiled” than I realized..thanks for your insight and inspiration…
KKDear John,
I loved your story. I have been through many challenges in life and with each one I have find that I become more beautiful and true to my higher self. I was married for 20 years. It was a hard marriage. I started out alive and strong but then I became the carrot.Weak Over the years I then became the egg and I didn’t know if I could ever love again. It wasn’t until the end of the 20 years that I was able to recreate myself. I have worked hard to never become the egg again. It isn’t a good place to be and no matter what I go throught I refuse to live with a closed heart. I still face challenges but I have become the love of my life. I feel and enjoy the aroma of my own beauty. The joy of being me.I am the coffee. I believe you helped me answer a question I have been puzzled about. I am 47 and just this year I started drinking coffee for the first time in my life. I have been truly blown away with the fact that I am drinking coffee. I can only say I am the coffee.

Have you ever asked yourself what your highest income producing activity is?
If you’re like most people you probably go about your day-to-day business never really thinking about the moment to moment activities that consume your day.
I’d like to walk you through an exercise that has helped me and my clients really stay focused on earning their highest possible revenue per hour.
Let’s assume that we each start with 365 days in a year. If we take away the following:
- Weekends- 104 days
- 5 major USA holidays
- 2 weeks of vacation
- Personal religious holidays – (average 3)
That leaves each one of us with approximately 238 days in order to earn the income we desire. Of course we can add or delete days based on our own schedule and desires. If you multiply these 238 days times an average of 10 working hours per day, you are dealing with 2,380 hours of real work time for the year. So let’s do some math. If your yearly income goals are as follows…
- $25k = you must be earning an average of $10.50 every hour of work
- $50K = $21 per hour
- $100k = $42 per hour
- $250k = $105 per hour
- $1 M = $420 per hour
- $5 M = $2100 per hour
- $10 M = $4200 per hour
In order to earn the income per year that you really want, you absolutely must be doing activities every hour that line up with this chart. If you catch yourself doing anything that isn’t your absolute highest producing income activity all the time, you are in effect making it much harder to achieve your desired financial goals. In other words:
Which activity or activities generate your highest producing income?
Consider these:
- What are you spending your time doing?
- Are you focused on the real moneymakers or the real time wasters?
- Are you making it easy for yourself to be a high-income earner or are you doing the things that can be done by someone whose income goal or ability is less than yours?
When you start to look at each hour this way, you’ll stop doing the small stuff and you’ll start doing the real high producing stuff that yields results. Just look at your most recent 3-5 days and count the number of hours you spent really making the big bucks vs all the stuff that creeps up on all of us.
What you discover will amaze you!
To You Having It All,
John

I often get asked how does one determine what they really want in their life, or as I like to put it… determining what is your life worth trading for?
Too many people ask themselves if they are worthy of their goals or don’t feel they deserve to achieve success at a higher level, yet I believe that every human being has the birthright to enjoy success in every area. You are no exception.
I have found that sometimes it’s good to make a list of all the things that are not acceptable to you in your life now or in the future.
For example:
It’s not acceptable for me to struggle every month financially.
It’s not acceptable for me to be overweight by more than ____________.
It’s not acceptable for me to not save money monthly.
It’s not acceptable for me to have a business that is not providing me with an abundant lifestyle.
I think you get the drift. Once you have a list of what is not acceptable to you in the various areas of your life, take the time to create a list of the polar opposite of that to get the things you do want. This will give you some direction and now you can start to create a plan for achieving it.
For example:
I want and expect an abundance of money.
I want and expect to be totally healthy and in shape.
I want and expect to save ______ monthly.
I want and expect my business to generate enough money to live the lifestyle I choose.
This little exercise will get you focused on the things that will fulfill your life.

Isn,t wonderful, when you do take time to just readjust, I do, three times a week.
This is such a great article, Mr. Assaraf because there are so many people that don’t believe in time off. I have worked for so many companies where the morale is “work until you drop, and when you do, someone else will pick up where you left off.”
Often, in these situations, I felt guilty for taking random time off, often when I (and my poor body especially) really needed it. In other instances that are non work related, I have came in contact with people that have been so brazen to say…what makes you think you deserve time off? I also know people that believe that you have to work yourself to the bone and if you don’t then you must have a problem, but I learned that there is a better way. So, thank you so much for this wonderful and insightful article!!!

Dean, Thank you (!) for thanking me. I appreciate your feedback. The mini-meditations during the day, really help when I have perceived disappointments, and my ego is beating me up. When my mind is “clear”… Serendipitious events happen more frequently! I was astonished at the end of one of Robert Kiyosaki’s Seminars on business…HE said “Success” is 99% SPIRITUAL. He said the deal of the century passes us by everyday, but we need to be in a “place” to see it….

As a senior who has jumped the fence, that seperates tradition from what I realy want to do regardless of age, (thank you DESIRE within) I delight in reading people’s common sense of taking time for them selves….now! You will be glad you did rather than following a time table and schedule that others made for you that does not allow ‘fun’, ‘love’ and ‘peace’.

What a great reminder and great advice for those of us who have our own business!! I would like to reiterate Chris Shouse’s ? :
John, when you take time off what allows you to stop thinking about what you need to do and totally relax?
I guess emptying your mind or meditation helps – I have been using Holosync(sp?) for the last month and it has helped immensely!
Thank you for the reminder to value our spirit and our bodies!
I look forward to talking and reading more!

This is the first thread I’ve looked at since registering. This is awesome. Right now my partner and I are looking at completely changing our lives (moving to a new state, new jobs aimed towards helping us fund a new business etc). This new blog couldn’t have happened at a better time. I look forward to conversing with everyone here
John, thank you so much for the invitation you sent to me. It’s my pleasure to be a part on your blog site. Thank you for the inspiration every single day.

I am going to join local yoga group, that also has drumming and meditation circles. The fatigue I have felt from being in overdrive a lot of years has taken over.
Thanks Starduster!
That was a very nice reminder of something I have known but not adhered to! I find myself in overdrive for hours at a time without a moment’s break and realize when I have completed my task that a few minutes of quiet time in between would have produced better results with far less stress.
I shall make it my powerful intention to commit to more mini-meditations throughout each day and look forward to wonderful results.
With gratitude,
Dean
Jill, I don’t know what John would say, but could the “doubt” be an intuitive warning sign (not knowing the scenario you are applying this to)or if it’s a matter of lack of self confidence, which I experience a lot. I play my pretend game, and imagine the way I want to be, and just pretend it IS the scenario I made up. When I first gave presentations to large groups and had huge stage fright, I would “pretend” I was Whoopi Goldberg. LOL! After awhile, I got more comfortable and became myself again..Isn’t life considered a stage, and we are the actors, producers and directors? But then again, psychologists would interpret all this by labeling us with lots of different neurosis’

I really like John’s reminders of taking care of ourselves. Especially that one week off doing nothing! On a daily basis, what I find helps me, is meditation breaks. Since I have a home office, when I get overwhelmed, I take a ten minute time out to “empty” my mind. It’s like waking up and starting a new day. I call it “mini” daily vacations, where I travel and visit “the Universe.” I also practice what Roberto does – every morning is a new beginning and a new me!
a little subject change but what’s the best way to deal with DOUBT? thanks!

I don’t know where to post this question. But I will take a chance and anchor it under this topic.
John taught us the law of Polarity.
Here is my questtion:
If I see a stock whose price has dipped down, can we apply the law of Polarity and say for sure that someday, this stocks price will go up ?
Am I making sense in using the law of Polarity ?
WoW, John, this is so simple and so Powerful, Thank u for being there to remind us all. Boy oh Boy, did i need to read this. this is where i am in my life, now if i can just Practice having FUN for more than 1 hour…..THANX
Working for yourself does have advantages for sure. Three weeks off per year with my 60-70 hour per week “job” sounds like it is greatly lacking!
Looks like creating a change is in order because that is really sounding like what I am desiring about now!
Thanks!!!
You are so right! You have to take that time for yourself. If you don’t take that time, eventually it leads to anger and depression. Thanks for the reminder.

John, when you take time off what allows you to stop thinking about what you need to do and totally relax?

I like that 6 weeks and one week off. I have been thinking about playing full out no holds barred. But, I see your point and I believe it is valid and will adopt it for myself. Thanks

great insight, we all need to be more mindful of our bodies and respectful of the healing process called rejuvination, that our bodies require, as much as water.
Great food for thought.
Thanks, Diane
